    smarter locking PRODUCT DESCRIPTION Metra electronic lock has proven itself during many years of operation on the field to be innovative and reliable. However, correct installation is crucial for the proper operation. This way we strongly recommend you to read and follow these instructions to achieve a maximum performance and a long lasting, trouble free operation of the device.

Position may thus vary due to the locker construction, vertical position, etc. For the retrofit jobs several drill jigs to simplify the installation are available in Metra. The screws are not supplied since they vary in size and type for different locker constructions and materials.

    smarter locking CRIMPING THE CONNECTORS Connectors may differ in type, but they all require the same procedure. To crimp the connectors you need standard flat cable crimping pliers (can be purchased in Metra on request) and a sharp knife or OLFA cutter. STEP 1: Find the PIN1 marker (arrow) and place the connector on the cable so that marker is on the red wire.

    smarter locking ADJUSTING THE EJECTOR SPRING FORCE Depending on the door size and type of the hinges you might need to adjust the spring force. Ejector is important part of the lock and should be able to push the doors open when unlocked.

    smarter locking MOUNTING THE LOCK BODY The lock body should be mounted first and then the door strike accordingly. The body is placed on the locker side (for very narrow doors can be also top or bottom). Drillings should be done in accordance with the drawing and the screw type. Insert the connector, fold the extra wire (see "wiring") and screw the lock firmly.

    smarter locking 10 MOUNTING THE DOOR STRIKE Marking the drilling position If the mounting holes for door strike are not pre – drilled in factory, use the Metra drill jig: acrylic (code SA000012) or ALU (code 1813) to mark the position of two strike holding screws.

Attach metal strike wire to the plastic strike body and press until it jams into holder. STEP 2 Insert the screws with washers into the holder.

    smarter locking 12 MAINTENANCE OF THE LOCK If mounted correctly as described above and under normal conditions the lock should give you long lasting, trouble free operation. Due to the hi-tech and hi quality materials used, there is virtually no maintenance needed. Occasional lubrication (depends on the environment, usually once a year or two) of the locking ball with the PTFE (Teflon) spray is recommended.
