PS2 POWER SUPPLY MODULE – INSTALLATION TIPS The CLASS IX model PS2 power supply module installation and hook up is quite simple. Keep in mind that the tips given below are intended as a guide and you are free to vary from these tips as you see fit at your risk.

CT-GND pad (as shown in figure 2) must be removed prior to making connections to the PS2. Failure to do so will cause damage to the PS2 and may even damage your transformer. If you are unsure about this procedure, get some technical help.

6VDC only when the PH1 and 5V pads on the OPTION strip are jumpered or switched. This is useful when building phono preamplifiers using only the PS2 and PP2 circuits as the transformers can be remotely located away from the PS2/PP2 combination and the PH1/GND connections are used for power switching.
PS2 circuit. When open, the PS2’s HTB circuit and HV circuit shut down as if the power is disconnected or switched off. When shorted, the PS2 goes through it’s regular start-up sequence.

NEVER drill any circuit pad to expand holes. The PS2 solder pads are plated through the circuit board. This allows wire insertion from either side of the PCB. Drilling these holes will destroy through-hole plating and may cause the pads to lift.
