Thank you for choosing Mtroniks. The digiSOUND702 is our third generation of sound
system. It uses a powerful digital signal processor and high output digital hi-fi class-D
25W amplifier to realise a small and highly efficient solution for larger models.
The sounds reproduced by the module are sampled from actual locomotives, they are
not synthesized sounds. This is what allows it to produce such realistic audio. The
digiSOUND702 benefits from bass and treble controls employing boost and cut of
12dB; this allows speakers of different types and sizes to achieve the best sound

Connect the yellow cables to your motor terminals either way round.
Connect the +VE and -VE battery cables to a separate 12.0V battery with a capacity of 7-12Ah.
WE DO NOT RECOMMEND taking a tap from the main traction battery.
Referring to the above picture, the other connections allow triggering of the various sounds
including the horn or whistle. Linking the wire pairs activates the sounds.
A mute function can be achieved by momentarily opening and closing the engine start connection.
This lowers the volume and is useful when entering stations.
Momentarily opening and closing the connection again returns the system to the full pre-set
volume.
All these connections must be made by ISOLATED switches or relay contacts, NOT by
connections directly on a speed controller as this can damage the sound system.
If you have an Mtroniks speed control system these connections can be made via the Mtroniks
solid state relay board so that the button and switches on the speed control handset fully control
the operation of the sound module.
