FOREWORD The purpose of this book is to give a thorough working knowledge of the Brown & Sharpe 618 Micro- master Surface Grinding Machine. 'I'he Operator and Set-up Man will need to be thoroughly familiar with the information given in Chap- ter Ill.
CONTENTS PAGE CHAPTER I Installing or Relocating the Machine CHAPTER Il Operating Controls and Principal Parts Power Table Travel and Power Cross Feed (6) ; Hand Table Travel and Hand Cross Feed (7). CHAPTER III Set-up Adjustments NV heel Spindle (8) ; Care and Use of Grinding Wheels (9) ; Longitudinal Table Travel (10) ; Cross Feed (11) : Suggestions on Set-up and Operation (12).
BROWN SHARPE MFG. CO. & CHAPTER 1 Installing or Relocating In lifting or moving the machine, it is recom- mended that the rope be rigged as shown in Figs. 1 and 2. Place wooden blocks or protective material between the rope and the machine wherever the rope is liable to damage any part.
