The appliance (or the product) must be disposed of separately in compliance with the local standards
in force on waste disposal.
IMPORTANT WARNINGS
The CAREL product is a state-of-the-art device, whose operation is specified in the technical documentation
supplied with the product or can be downloaded, even prior to purchase, from the website www.carel.com.
The customer (manufacturer, developer or installer of the final equipment) accepts all liability and risk
relating to the configuration of the product in order to reach the expected results in relation to the
specific installation and/or equipment. The failure to complete such phase, which is required/indicated
in the user manual, may cause the final product to malfunction; CAREL accepts no liability in such
cases. The customer must use the product only in the manner described in the documentation relating
to the product. The liability of CAREL in relation to its products is specified in the CAREL general contract
conditions, available on the website www.carel.com and/or by specific agreements with customers.
Attenzione: la chiave deve essere utilizzata a controllo spento e con la linea seriale
RS485 scollegata lato MPXPRO.
Caratteristiche generali
La chiave di programmazione MXOPZKEYA0/IROPZKEYA0 permette la copia del set completo
dei parametri di MPXPRO. Tale chiave deve essere inserita nel connettore (AMP 4 pin) previsto
nei controlli (con controllo non alimentato).
NOTA: MXOPZKEYA0 può essere utilizzata solo su MPXPro con versioni firmware >= 2.1(con
al max. 6 set di parametri); IROPZKEYA0 può essere utilizzata solo su MPXPro con versioni
firmware <=1.2 (con al max. 2 set di parametri).
La versione del firmware presente nel MPXPro può essere individuata nei seguenti modi:
1. Leggendola dall'etichetta posta sul retro dello strumento. La seconda parte del numero
di revisione coincide con la versione del firmware (es. Rev. 1.324 significa revisione firmware
2.4). Questa info è valida solo se l'MPXPro non è mai stato upgradato dall'utente;
2. Leggendola dal display del terminale. All'accensione del MPXPro, sul display del
terminale compare per un paio di secondi la revisione firmware (es. r 2.4);
3. Leggendola con il VPM o da supervisore (Intera 11: Firmware release).
Mediante la configurazione dei due dip-switch presenti (accessibili togliendo il coperchio), la
chiave di programmazione consente l'esecuzione delle seguenti funzioni:
• UPLOAD. Caricamento nella chiave dei parametri di un controllo (vedere fig. 1):

la chiave acquisisce tutti i parametri presenti nel controllo;
• DOWNLOAD. Copia dalla chiave verso un controllo (vedere fig.2):
la chiave trasferisce al controllo collegato solo i parametri di funzionamento;
• DOWNLOAD ESTESO. Copia estesa dalla chiave verso un controllo (vedere fig.3):
la chiave trasferisce al controllo collegato tutti i parametri (sia di funzionamento che
macchina).
Importante: La copia e la copia estesa dei parametri, possono essere fatte solamente
tra strumenti compatibili aventi cioè la stessa revisione firmware o revisione firmware
superiore (es. copia dalla 2.2 alla 2.4, non viceversa).
Le funzioni di UPLOAD, DOWNLOAD e DOWNLOAD ESTESO si eseguono come segue:
1. aprire lo sportellino posteriore della chiave e posizionare i due dip-switch secondo
l'operazione richiesta;
2. chiudere lo sportellino, alimentare la chiave ed inserire la chiave nel connettore del
controllo;
3. premere il tasto e tenerlo premuto almeno fino a quando non si vede un breve
lampeggio del led rosso dopo circa 5-10 sec. (è possibile comunque continuare a
tenere premuto il pulsante). Dal momento in cui si rilascia il tasto il led rimane rosso
fino al termine dell'operazione che può durare fino ad un massimo di 45 sec.
L'operazione è andata a buon fine quando si accende il led verde.
Con tasto rilasciato il led verde si spegne dopo circa 2 secondi.
Segnalazioni diverse o lampeggianti indicano che si sono verificati dei problemi: vedere
tabella relativa;
4. sfilare la chiave dal controllo.
Important: the key must be used with the controller off and with the RS485 serial line
disconnected from the MPXPRO.
General features
The MXOPZKEYA0/IROPZKEYA0 programming key is used to copy the complete set of
MPXPRO parameters. The key must be plugged into the connector (4 pin AMP) on the con-
trollers (with the controller powered down).
NOTE: MXOPZKEYA0 can only be used on MPXPro with firmware versions >= 2.1(with max.
6 sets of parameters); IROPZKEYA0 can only be used on MPXPro with firmware versions
<=1.2 (with max. 2 sets of parameters).
The firmware version of the MPXPro can be identified as follows:
1. Read it on the label applied to the rear of the instrument. The second part of the
revision number represents the firmware version (e.g. Rev. 1.324 means firmware revision
2.4). This info is valid only if the MPXPro has never been updated by the user;
2. Read it on the terminal display. When powering up the MPXPro, the terminal displays
the firmware revision (e.g. r 2.4) for a couple of seconds;
3. Read it using the VPM or from the supervisor (Integer variable 11: Firmware release).
By setting the two dipswitches (accessible when removing the cover), the programming key
can run the following functions:
• UPLOAD. Load the parameters from a controller to the key (see Fig. 1):
the key acquires all the parameters available on the controller;
• DOWNLOAD. Copy from the key to a controller (see Fig.2):
the key only transfers the operating parameters to the connected
controller;
• EXTENDED DOWNLOAD. Extended copy from the key to a controller (see
Fig.3):
the key transfers all the parameters (operating and unit) to the connected
controller.
Important: The copy and extended copy of parameters can only be performed between
compatible instruments, that is, with the same or higher firmware revision (e.g. copy
from 2.2 to 2.4, but not vice-versa).
The of UPLOAD, DOWNLOAD and EXTENDED DOWNLOAD functions are performed as
follows:
1. open the rear cover of the key and set the two dipswitches based on the
desired operation;
2. close the cover, power up the key and plug the key into the connector on
the controller;
3. press and hold the button until the red LED flashed briefly, after around
5-10 sec. (the button can still be held). When the button is released, the
LED stays on red until the end of the operation, which may last up to a
maximum of 45 sec. The operation is completed successfully when the
green LED comes on. With the button released, the green LED goes off
after around 2 seconds. Other signals or flashing of the LEDs indicate
that problems have occurred: see the corresponding table;
4. remove the key from the controller.
