Before you begin 1.1 Intended use The LAP-TEQ PLUS ELEVATION sensor is used to determine the correct mounting height of loudspeakers. The LAP-TEQ ELEVATION sensor measures the vertical distance between the device and the surface directly underneath. The measured distance is displayed on a separately purchased LAP-TEQ PLUS DISPLAY, LAP-TEQ PLUS INTERFACE or a LAP-TEQ MOTION system.
Before you begin 1.2 What do the symbols used mean? Hazard statements and warnings are clearly marked in the instructions for use. The following symbols are used: Danger! Imminent danger to life or injury Immediately dangerous situation that will result in death or serious injury. Warning! Probable danger to life or injury Generally dangerous situation that can result in death or serious injury.
For your safety Warning! Failure to comply with safety instructions and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury Read all safety warnings and instructions. 2.1 General Safety Instructions Keep all safety warnings and instructions for future reference. The term "device" used in the safety instructions refers to mains-powered appliances (with a mains cord) and battery-powered appliances (without a mains cord).
For your safety 2.2 Handling laser beams Warning! Risk of eye injury from laser beams If the laser beam hits the eyes via optical devices, irreparable damage can occur. Never look into the laser or direct the laser beam at reflective surfaces! ...
For your safety Magnets and their coatings may contain nickel. With regular contact with it, nickel allergies can develop. If possible, do not touch the magnets with the skin. An existing nickel allergy can lead to allergic reactions. In this case, refrain from handling magnets.

For your safety Paint and stickers can stick to moving parts, thereby affecting proper operation. If you are allergic to the paint or metallic parts of the device, you may experience itching, eczema, or swelling of the skin. If this is the case, stop using the device and seek medical attention.
Product 3.1 Scope of delivery The scope of delivery includes the following parts: 1x LAP-TEQ PLUS ELEVATION sensor 1x safety rope 1x Manfrotto 5/8" socket Instructions for use and safety data sheet 3.2 Your device at a glance 1.
Product The LAP-TEQ PLUS ELEVATION module is designed to be mounted on a flying frame (using the LAP-TEQ PLUS MOUNTING BRACKET) and measures the vertical distance between the zero line on the device (see chapter Your device at a glance9) and the surface underneath.
Commissioning 4.1 Connection Attention! Risk of device damage! Moisture and fluids can cause damage to the parts or electronic circuits in the device. Do not turn on the appliance when it is damp. If the device is already turned on, turn it off. If the appliance cannot be switched off, allow the appliance to dry in this state Dry the device with a dry cloth and take it to a service center.

Commissioning Hint The cable length (2) between DISPLAY and ELEVATION must not exceed a length of 70m. If you want to bridge distances greater than 70 m, an XLR cable with a cross-section larger than 0.22mm² must be used. Connect the ELEVATION module (1) at the input "IN" and the display module (3) using a standard 3-pin XLR cable (2).
Commissioning 4.2 Connection of a LAP-TEQ PLUS sensor (optional) Mount the LAP-TEQ PLUS sensor (1) on the flying frame or the MOUNTING BRACKET (see instructions for use LAP-TEQ PLUS). Connect the LAP-TEQ PLUS sensor (1) to the "THRU" socket of the ELEVATION module (3) using a standard3-pin XLR cable (2).
Commissioning 4.3 Attach MOUNTING BRACKET (optional) Place the magnetic mount on the top edge of the flying frame. Secure the magnetic holder on the flying frame with the safety rope to prevent it from falling Insert the XLR cable in a loop through the strain relief on the magnetic mount. Check that the ELEVATION module can swing freely.
Service 5.1 Turn on/off Hint Make sure that the reference point of the measurement is correct. If the deviation from the vertical is so large that the laser detects an object, for example, this leads to an erroneous measurement result. Check the safe condition of the device: Check if there are any visible defects.
Trigonometric correction / unit of length Hint In the factory setting, the unit of length is set to "m" (set). It can be changed to "ft" (feet). Hint In the factory setting, trigonometric correction is enabled. If the ELEVATION module cannot oscillate freely (e.g. due to cable pulling), the trigonometric correction can correct the deviation.

Trigonometric correction / unit of length Disable trigonometric correction: Set DIP switch 2 to "OFF" Put the lid on Screw in both screws (2) Press on both cover caps (1)
Cleaning and maintenance Danger! Danger to life due to electric shock! Before any work on the device, pull the XLR cable to the display module (power supply). Attention! Risk of device damage! Do not immerse the device in water when cleaning, as water can penetrate the electrical system and damage it.

Faults and help 8.2 Pay attention to environmental conditions The visibility of the laser beam depends on the ambient brightness. In general, the following applies: Subdued light = good visibility Direct sunlight = poor visibility Rain, dust or steam = poor visibility Other disturbing influences: ...
Storage Clean and dry all parts and store them in a clean and dry place. If you do not use or transport the appliance for a longer period of time, use the original packaging. Attention! Risk of device damage! High temperatures can damage the device or permanently reduce the holding force of the magnets.
