    For city riding, not stunts The FLIT-16 is intended to be used only on paved roads with both wheels on the ground. It is not intended to be used for stunts, wheelies, hops, jumps, racing, or similar. Flit (Cambridge) Limited and our suppliers are not liable for any consequential damage from improper use.

    It’s important to note that laws, rules, and guidelines around electric bicycles and their use may differ from country to country. If you are not using your FLIT-16 in the UK, it’s important to find out what laws apply in your location before you start riding your electric bicycle.

    Battery storage and use A basic set of instructions for how to use the battery is summarised below. Please consult the separate battery instructions booklet for more detail on how to store and use the battery. The labels above are: LED indicator.
  • Page 9 Removing and inserting th e battery To remove the battery, first undo the seat post quick release and take the seat post all the way out of the frame. The battery can then be removed by gripping the black plastic light holder and pulling it out. To re-insert the battery, first remove the seat post from the bike.

    Battery capacity is measured in Watt-Hours. • The FLIT-16 comes with a 230 Wh battery that should have a suitable capacity to last for 20 - 30 miles for most riders on most journeys. • The battery can be locked in the bike by fixing the seat post in place using the lock on the seat post quick release.
  • Page 11 Cleaning and Handling • Do not use any pressure washers/jet washers, solvents, aerosols, or degreasers to clean the battery or e-bike.     We recommend starting off on no more than assistance level 2 or 3 whilst getting used to the FLIT-16. See section 1.8 Properties in the DP C230.CAN booklet to change from kilometres (km) and kilometres per hour (km/h) to miles (m) and miles per hour (mph).

An e-bike which is badly adjusted may lead to joint or back pain, and make the e-bike more difficult to control. • A good rule of thumb is that when your foot 01 is on the pedal 02, directly above the pedal axle 03, and the pedal is at the bottom of its stroke, your leg should be almost straight, with a bend at the knee.

    Selecting the cor rec t assistance le vel The FLIT-16 is a single-speed electric bike, which means that you don’t have multiple gears to choose from. Instead, the electrical system will help you start moving if you are on a hill. You can adjust the assistance up and down to suit your riding conditions.
  • Page 24 Riding without power assi stanc e The FLIT-16 is designed to work as an ordinary bicycle when the level of assistance is set to zero. You can keep the display on to keep an eye on your speed, but turn the assistance off if you like, by pressing the minus button when the bike is set on assistance level 1. You can also extend the range of the e-bike by turning down the assistance.

    • The FLIT-16 is also small enough when folded down that it should fit in the boot of most cars. Be careful not to damage the chain tensioner. If you need to lay it down, lay it down on the non-drive side (with the chain facing up).

There are wear indicators on the rims as well as on the brake pads. When brake pads are worn down, their notches will appear shallow or even smoothed down completely.
  • Page 28 Drivetrain The chain has been designed not to fall off but it is useful to remember how to set it up properly in case it does. Excessive wear and chain stretch mean the chain will damage the teeth of the gears on the drive train, requiring an expensive replacement, so check chain wear regularly with a chain wear tool!     FLIT-16 WARRANTY TERMS AND CONDITIONS To keep your FLIT-16 in good condition and protect your warranty, we strongly recommend that you have it serviced only as recommended in the manual and any supporting documentation that FLIT sends to you. If you do need to claim under these warranty terms please contact us to arrange the repair or replacement of the relevant parts.
