Do not operate this tester unless you have read and understood
the details of this operating manual.
INTRODUCTION:
With the Delta AKKU units you can measure the capacity of lead-acid batteries.
Discharging current, cut-off voltage and charging time between discharges can be
adjusted.
The tester measures the charged/discharged Ah and the elapsed time of each cycle.
By discharging using a known C3 or C5 current for a given battery, you will get a
capacity result you can compare to the manufacturers published rating. You can also
test at 25A to determine reserve capacity.
WARNINGS
•
Never disconnect the battery while discharging or charging: this could
cause sparks. Always stop the tester before disconnecting.
•
Never use the equipment in the rain, in areas used for washing or in
damp areas.
Caution: the gases generated during charging are explosive. Do not
•
smoke in the vicinity of the batteries. When working with cables and electrical
equipment, avoid open flames and sparks.
Pay attention to any remarks of the battery manufacturer.
•
Attention: Use protective glasses and gloves during battery testing. Battery acid
•
causes injuries. In case of contact with battery acid, wash the affected parts with fresh
water and consult a doctor if necessary.
During discharge, elements inside unit may be visibly red due to resistive load. This
•
is normal operation.
Tester generates heat during use. Allow at least 6" space around unit
for proper cooling. Do not place items on top of unit. Do not use unit on
or near combustible surfaces.
CAUTION: Case of unit can get hot during use. Do not touch during use as
personal injury could result.
