Digital coupler

Congratulations on your purchase of the digital coupler from
SD-Modell. We hope you enjoy using it.
The digital coupler has been developed for use on model locomotives or
carriages with a coupling box mount of the companies Tillig and BTTB in
TT gauge (scale 1:120).
The digital coupler is compatible with the couplers from Tillig and Kühn-
Modell according to NEM 359.
The digital coupler was primarily developed for shunting individual or
groups of carriages. Care must be taken to ensure the correct track
position, otherwise the coupling may become disconnected. We accept
no liability for damage caused by failure to observe these instructions.
Please note that our digital couplers cannot be coupled together.
These instructions are intended to enable you to install the digital coupler
yourself. Please read them carefully before installation.
Install the coupler
Before installing the digital coupler, check that the model
-
locomotive has a coupling mount in accordance with NEM 358.
A long or short distance between the buffers can be realised with
-
the digital coupler: To achieve the short distance, you must first
remove the rear latching lugs on the coupling bar of the digital
coupling and then shorten the bar with a cutter knife or plastic
cutter at the marking (notch) provided for this purpose. Caution,
risk of injury.
Now insert the digital coupler straight into the locomotive's
-
coupling mount
.
Insert the connecting cables into the locomotive on the side of the
-
coupling. Alternatively, you can drill two holes for the cables in the
frame of the locomotive using a 0.6 mm drill (avoid sharp edges).
Ensure that the coupling link moves smoothly.
