Quick Links

Diagnostic Mode is used to power the ECU 800 Series Controller and the engine ECM (but does not initiate
cranking). All DM1 messaging is streamed to the Controller allowing full monitoring.
It can be used to retrieve the following information that requires the engine ECM be powered up.
 Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) without starting the engine
 Allows connection with engine diagnostic tools for expanded engine diagnosis and monitoring
 Checking the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) tank level
DO NOT ATTEMPT any mechanical maintenance on the engine in this
mode since the engine can accidentally start up.
ALWAYS remove the battery connections prior to engine service activities.
Procedure for Entering the Diagnostic Mode:
A. Ensure the AUTO-OFF/RESET-MANUAL switch is in the OFF/RESET center position
B. Press and hold the HOUR CHECK button
C. Once the automatic lamp test finishes (about 1 second), turn the AUTO-OFF/RESET-MANUAL
switch to the MANUAL position
D. Release the HOUR CHECK button
