  • Page 31 AVIATION RECORDERS OPERATOR'S MANUAL MODEL FA2100GSE PORTABLE INTERFACE (PI) MONITOR MENU Voice and Cockpit Area Microphone Channel Selection 3.3.1 The Monitor Menu allows the user to control which audio from the CVR is to be played over the PI’s speaker or headphone jack. There are six OFF/ON entries on this menu, one each for three High Quality (HQ) Voice Channels, an HQ Cockpit Area Microphone (CAM) channel, a Standard Quality (SQ) Voice channel, and an SQ CAM channel.

Rotor Speed FSK data is output by the PI each time a new rotor speed value is available.

The operator can enter it while playback is underway without interrupt- ing the audio being played back.

The user selects a new file ID for the file selected to be copied to the disk. Instructions for selecting the new file ID are provided in the next paragraph.

SPECIAL FUNCTIONS MENU The user can select six options from this menu including Version ID, Set/Clear Test Condition, Delete file from disk, Display GMT/Rotor Speed, Dump Fault Log to file, and Dump Trace Mes- sage to file.

If the file name chosen by the user is the same as the name of a file that already exists on the disk, the name chosen by the user will be modified by replacing the last three charac- ters of the name with digits chosen to make the user filename unique on the disk.

However, before the user does that, it is possible to set a memory marker from this menu by pressing the down arrow until the user has highlighted the SET MEM MARKER tag and pressing select.

If the user selects Version ID, a screen will appear showing the software version identifiers for both the FDR and for the PI. Observe that the FDR contains two software packages, Flight Data Processor (FDP) and Store Management Processor (SMP).

If the FDR is recording, the PI will stop it. Selecting Fault Log To File on the Special Functions Menu displays the Fault Log To File Menu.
