TESTING SAMPLE Place a sample of the material you want the detector to find (such as a gold ring or a coin) on the ground. Hold the search coil level to the ground about 1-2 inches above the surface. Slowly move the search coil over the area where you placed the sample, sweeping the search coil in a side-to-side motion in an arc line of 7cm.
SEARCH COIL SWEEPING HINTS Never sweep the search coil as if it were a pendulum. Raising the search coil while sweeping or at the end of a sweep will cause false readings. Sweep slowly; hurrying will cause you to miss targets. It's better to sweep the search coil from side to side in an arc line of 3 inches motion and keep the search coil parallel to the ground.
FACTORS THAT AFFECT THE DETECTING Accurate detection can be difficult and requires practice for improved results. Sometimes, detection may be restricted by certain factors. If there is interference from other instruments, electrical cables, TVs, or radios in your search area, lower the sensitivity or change the current search area. When searching in highly mineralized areas, the unit may sound even if there's no metal.
TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE SYMPTOM CAUSE SOLUTION • Use detector outdoors only • Using detector indoors • Move away from power lines • Using detector near power lines • Keep 2 detectors at least 6 meters Detector chatters, beeps • Using 2 detectors in close proximity erratically or has low sensitivity (20’) apart Environmental electromagnetic...
