After each
day
of
diving,
the regulator must
be
cleaned,
inspected, and
pre pared
for
the next
use
or for storage
.

as
the
regulator
is
removed from the
SCUBA
cylinder(s).

dust
.cap
(Item
26)

the
regulator

inlet
port.
This
cap
is normally
attached to the
regulatot
yo ke (Ilem 22)
and
therefore hos
been
underwater. Blow all
the water
out
of
the
cap first.
Failure
to
do this
results
in
water entering
into
the
first-stage,
causing
corrosion. Also make sure
the
0 -ring (Item 25) is
faslde
lhe
dust cap. In
most
cases,
it
also
serves
as a spare 0 -ring in c
a
se ol
damage to
the
0-ring
on the cylinder
valve.
This
important
soft seal
should be inspected
regularly
and replaced
if
ii shows signs of wear or
aging.
