INTRODUCTION General The AD PP5/013 Rear Transition Module (RTM) is designed primarily to complement Concurrent ® Technologies CompactPCI PP B7x/msd processor boards. The RTM provides I/O interface connectors for the following interfaces: SATA, PMC I/O, serial port, 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet ports and USB ports.

INSTALLATION General It is strongly advised that an earthing strap should be worn at all times when handling the AD PP5/013 and its associated components in order to prevent damage to the board WARNING as a result of electrostatic discharge. If the package is badly damaged or water-stained, the carrier’s agent must be present when the board is unpacked.
INSTALLATION 2.2.1 Ethernet Speed LED (Yellow) The LED indicates the connection speed: Flashing = 1000 Mbps. On = 100 Mbps. Off = 10 Mbps. 2.2.2 Ethernet Link/Activity LED (Green) The LED indicates the connectivity and/or activity: Flashing = Activity.

INSTALLATION Installation and Power-up When the AD PP5/013 has been configured, it can be installed in the system backplane, as follows: Make sure that system power is turned OFF Slide the board into the designated slot, making sure that the board fits neatly into the runners. Push the board into the card-cage until the J3 - J5 connectors are firmly located.

FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION 3.3.2 USB 3.1 Interfaces There are two USB 3.1 interfaces provided on the AD PP5/013. The USB 3.1 interfaces are routed from the J5 connector. All the USB 3.1 interfaces support up to 5 Gbps signal rates. J5 connector: Two interfaces are connected to front panel USB 3.1 connectors (labeled as USB1 and USB2).
FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION PMC I/O PMC site 1 I/O signals from the main processor board are routed from the J5 connector to a 68- way female high-density D-connector (J10). The I/O signals from the PMC site 2 are routed from the J3 connector to a second 68-way female high-density D-connector (J11), which is located on the rear side of the AD PP5/013.
FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION 3.11 Miscellaneous Interface signals The RTC Battery connection is provided via an on-board header (P14). A voltage between 3.0V and 3.3V should be provided if this feature is required.Access to the external power button signal, is also provided via an on-board header (P14). The Write Protect signal is also via the on-board header P14 and provides hardware write protection of all non-volatile memories on the main processor board.
