How to avoid poisoning
PPE is a protection aid; you must not consider it the only way to protect yourself against agrochemicals. For workers to be safe and to avoid the risks of poisoning, they
must wear PPE items and accessories compatible with the application risk, keep sprayers leak-free, with pressure calibrated, apply agrochemicals in favorable weather
conditions, always at mild temperatures, and respect safe practices in the handling stage. Other instructions for use: do not eat, drink, smoke, or use cell phones during
applications. Protect the eyes. Do not be misled by the amount. What may be just a drop may contain concentrated product; therefore, the risk of poisoning is even higher.
How to put on a PPE item
Clean and decontaminate the PPE items before wearing them. Before putting them on, check the protection efficiency: analyze repellency conditions (by pouring water
from 5 cm away on the fabric at an angle in different clothing areas), seams, and general aspects. If the PPE item is ok, wear it over cotton clothes (for example, shorts and
a T-shirt) for more comfort. When removing the items, first wash the gloves and boots. Then, remove the PPE items following this order: insulated cap, facial shield, apron,
shirt, boots, pants, gloves, and respirator – removing them in this sequence is vital to ensure your protection.
Sizes, numbers, and adjustments
The pants, the shirt, and the coverall are available in five sizes – S, M, L, XL, and XXL. The cap, face shield, and apron are one size.
How to wash the PPE items
To preserve your safety equipment items, wash them IMMEDIATELY AFTER WEARING THEM. Wear nitrile gloves to wash and handle contaminated PPE items. When
washing them, separate the clothing items from everyday clothes. Do not soak or rub any PPE item. Wash them with neutral soap; do not use chlorine, bleach, or fabric
softener, as they can remove the water repellency. After washing them, let them dry in the shade and iron them with a VERY HOT iron to reactivate the repellency and
provide more durability. Do not iron the waterproof parts of the fabric. After caring for the items, remember to take care of your health. Shower with plenty of running
water, soap your body very well and concentrate on the hands, nails, and head (scalp).
How to store the PPE items
Store the clothing items in a clean and dry place, separated from everyday clothes and contaminating agents (dirt and chemicals).
How to dispose of the PPE items
After fully decontaminating your PPE items, you must render them useless, and you can dispose of them in general waste.
