IMPORTANT SAFETY
INSTRUCTIONS
When using electrical appliances, especially when children are present, basic safety
precautions should always be followed.
PLEASE READ BEFORE USE
KEEP AWAY FROM WATER AND OTHER
LIQUIDS.
DANGER – As with most electrical appliances, the hair multi-styler is electrically live even
when the switch is in the off position. To reduce the risk of electric shock:
• Always unplug the hair multi-styler after each use.
• Do not place or store the hair multi-styler where it can fall or be pulled into tubs, sinks, or water.
• Do not use the hair multi-styler while bathing or showering.
• Do not use the hair multi-styler near or place it in water or other liquids.
• If the hair multi-styler falls into water or other liquids, unplug it immediately. Do not reach into or
make contact with water or other liquids before first unplugging the hair multi-styler.
WARNING – To reduce the risk of burns, electrocution, fire, or injury to persons:
• Never leave the hair multi-styler unattended while it is plugged in.
• Close supervision is necessary when this hair multi-styler is used by, on, or near children or
individuals with certain disabilities or sensory impairment.
• Use this hair multi-styler only for its intended use as described in these instructions.
• Use this hair multi-styler only with the included attachments or with official Sharper Image
compatible attachments. Do not use with any other attachments.
• Never operate this hair multi-styler if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working properly, or if
it has been dropped, damaged, or dropped into water. Return the hair multi-styler to a service
center for examination or repair before attempted use.
• Keep the power cord away from heated surfaces.
• Do not wrap the power cord around the hair multi-styler or wrap the power cord too tightly.
• Never block the air openings while the hair multi-styler is in use. Do not place the hair multi-styler on
soft surfaces that may block the air openings, such as beds, couches, blankets, or towels.
• Keep the air openings clear and remove all lint, hair, and other debris.
• Do not fall asleep while using the hair multi-styler. Do not use the hair multi-styler on anyone who is
asleep or otherwise unable to respond.
• Never drop or insert any object into any opening of the hair multi-styler or its attachments.
• Do not use the hair multi-styler outdoors.
• Do not use the hair multi-styler in any location where aerosol (spray) products are being used or
recently have been used.
• Do not use the hair multi-styler where oxygen is being or recently has been administered.
• Do not direct hot air towards eyes or other heat-sensitive areas.
• Attachments and some areas of the hair multi-styler may become hot during use. Allow to cool
completely before handling.
• Do not set down or place the hair multi-styler on any surface while powered on.
• Keep hair and loose clothing away from the air inlets while in use.
• Do not operate the hair multi-styler using a voltage converter.
• Do not use the hair multi-styler with power strips or extension cords.
• This hair multi-styler has a polarized plug with a wide and narrow prong. As a safety feature, this
plug will fit in polarized outlets in a single orientation. If the plug does not fit fully into an outlet,
reverse the plug orientation. If the plug still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not
attempt to bypass this safety feature or force the plug into an incompatible outlet.

GETTING STARTED
POWER
1. Plug the attached power cord into a 120V indoor wall outlet.
2. Press the red reset button on the plug housing. (Figure A.)
3. Before starting the hair multi-styler, press the test button on the plug housing and
check the reset button. (Figure B.)
• If the reset button pops up, the ALCI safety device has activated successfully.
Continue to step 4.
• If the reset button does not pop up, stop. Unplug the hair multi-styler immediately
and return it to be serviced.
4. Press the reset button again to reset the ALCI safety device.
5. To power on the hair multi-styler, slide the power switch up to the on position.
(Figure C.)
6. To power off the hair multi-styler, slide the power switch down to the off position.
Always unplug the hair multi-styler when done.
IMPORTANT: Follow these steps each time you use the hair multi-styler. Never use or
attempt to use the hair multi-styler if the ALCI safety device does not activate.

ATTACHMENTS
1. For easy curls, choose the airflow curler left or airflow curler right to curl your hair
in either clockwise or counterclockwise twists. The top of each airflow curler
features an arrow label showing the direction it curls. (Figure D.)
2. For additional styling needs, choose from the other attachments included.
• Styling brush – Manage and style curly hair
• Volumizing brush – Add volume and lift to any look
• Smoothing brush – Smooth hair and reduce frizz
• Detangler – Comb out tangles
3. To install your chosen attachment, line up the bottom of the attachment with the
top of the hair multi-styler and slide the attachment into place. The attachment
should lock into place. (Figure E.)
4. To remove an attachment, press and hold the release button on the back of the
hair multi-styler and then pull the attachment off the hair multi-styler. (Figure F.)
5. When the detangler is installed on the multi-styler, twist the top of the detangler to
extend or retract the comb. Use with the comb extended to detangle hair or use
with the comb retracted to dry hair. (Figure G.)
