Quick Links

After recording you can immediately play back through
the unit' s VDU, by setting the A/B button to the 'B'
(depressed) setting.
BASIC TECHNIQUES
Make sure that the pipe to be inspected has been
thoroughly cleaned and cleared.
Move the camera back to remove it from its holster then
draw the camera forward and insert into the pipe to be
inspected.
If the pipe diameter is greater than 80mm you
should fit the head with a pair of star guides. These
simply clip over each end of the camera assembly and can
be cut to suit the pipe size.

With the unit switched ON and where applicable, your
VCR set to record, observe the image sent by the
camera on the VDU.
Insert the camera into the drain taking care not to
kink the push rod cable it is connected to. Avoid
impacting the camera head on hard objects.
If the screen is difficult to see because of sun glare,
re-position the unit.
You can adjust the contrast and brightness using the
respective dials on the front panel.
If you discover a blockage in the pipe, contact your local
HSS Hire Shop for advice on drain cleaning equipment.
EQUIPMENT CARE
Never push the equipment beyond its design limits.
If it will not do what you want with reasonable ease and
speed, assume you have the wrong tool for the job.
Contact your local HSS Hire Shop for advice.
Keep the equipment clean - you will find this less of a
chore if you clean it regularly, rather than wait until the end
of the hire period.
When not in use, store the equipment somewhere
clean, dry and safe from thieves.
FINISHING OFF
The hirer has a duty of care to ensure the
equipment is returned clean of any potentially
harmful contaminants or body fluids.
HSS may refuse to accept equipment that has not
been suitably cleaned.
Retract the camera from the pipe, by gently pulling and
feeding the cable neatly on to the wheel and where
necessary cleaning the cable as you go.
Switch the unit OFF followed by the power supply
and unplug the adaptor.
Feed the remainder of the cable on to the wheel and
remove any star guides before reinserting the
camera head into its holster.
Disconnect the power lead and, if fitted, any VCR
cables.
Place the adaptor in the storage area and close the
cover.
Finally, release the support catch and close the
protective cover ensuring the catch engages
correctly.
All that remains is to give the unit a final clean ready
for return, to your local HSS Hire Shop.
