Shooting with the Zoom Function
■ Using the Power Zoom Function
To make your zoom shots more impressive and to achieve exactly
the desired effect, do it like the professionals before actually
shooting, make a trial run of the zoommq
1 Keep pressed for telephoto.
Zoom in (subject appears closer 0)
Keep pressed for wide-angle.
Zoom out (subject appears further away

■ Using the Digital Zoom Function
The Digital Zoom Function makes it possible lo zoom in on a
subject and enlarge it by up to 100 times by using the [T] Zoom
Button and the [DIGITAL ZOOM) Button.

Slide up.

Press.
•At one press, the 'D.ZOOM 1" Indication appears in the
Viewfinder; at a second press, the "D.ZOOM 2 Indication
appears.

■ To Cancel this Function...
Press the [DIGITAL ZOOM] Button
•When the Digital Zoom Function is turned off. the zoom ranqe is
limited to xi 2.
•When the Digital Zoom Function is activated, the picture is-
magnified electronically and the zoom range is increased to x24
(D.ZOOM 1) and
x
100 (D.ZOOM 2).
•The Digital Zoom Function slightly decreases the picture
resolution and fine picture details.
•When shooting under very bright conditions, the after-image can
be eliminated by selecting a shutter speed of 1/250 or 1/500 sec
Note:
The higher the magnification of the Digital Zoom becomes the
grainier the picture will be. When the zoom range is increased to
X 00, the picture and its colours may become unnatural.
