    6. ANSLUTNING AV KONTROLLBOXEN LJUD OCH VISUELLT LARM Översikt 6.1. Kontrollpanelen tillåter detektering med en linjär kabel av värme- eller rökdetektor av brand i ett skåp och släckning via en aerosolgenerator. Kontrollpanelen har en ingång för anslutning av linjär värmedetekteringskabel eller rökdetektor alternativt en kombination av båda och kontrollerar ständigt anslutningen av detekteringsenheterna.

    1. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS AND SAFE USE • To ensure safety, it is imperative to comply with applicable laws and regulations regarding the handling of lithium-ion batteries as well as the notes contained in this manual. • Furthermore, work on electrical installations may only be carried out in a de-energized state and by qualified electricians in accordance with the applicable accident prevention regulations, VDE regulations and regulations of the local electricity distributors.

    5. INTERIOR DESIGN OF THE CABINET 5.1. Containment sumps According to standard EN 14470-1: A retention tank must always be installed on the ground below the lower storage level. The retention bin on the floor must have a minimum capacity of 10% of all containers stored in the cabinet, or a minimum of 110% of the capacity of the largest container taken individually, whichever is greater.

    6. CONNECTION OF THE ALARM BOX SOUND AND VISUAL ALARM 6.1. Overview The control panel of the plant allows detection by a linear cable of heat or smoke detectors of fire in an electrical or computer cabinet and extinction via an aerosol generator. The control panel has an input for connecting linear heat detection cable or smoke detectors or a combination of both.
  • Page 26 Note 1 The control box will remain in fault mode until the aerosol dispenser is replaced. Note 2 Fires are usually triggered by a short circuit, an overheated cable or a component that is poorly powered. We recommend that when the aerosols are triggered, the electricity supply to the equipment should be cut off so that the cause of the fire is not maintained.
  • Page 27 Note : Automatic smoke detectors are polarity-sensitive, and polarity must be observed. If a short circuit occurs on the detection line (either by activation of the linear heat detector or activation of the smoke detector [470 Ohms] or by accident) the control panel will immediately activate the aerosol generators.     7. STORAGE This cabinet is exclusively intended for the storage of lithium-ion batteries in closed safety containers. It must under no circumstances be used for the storage of chemical products (acids, bases, magnesium, other metals (in powder form)). Charging a lithium-ion battery generates heat! We remind you that the storage of corrosive products can affect the proper functioning of safety cabinets.

    8.3. Operation without forced ventilation It is possible for your safety cabinet to operate without ventilation. However, your cabinet should be placed in a room with its own forced ventilation (at least 5 times the volume of the room per hour). The cabinet itself and the 2.5 meters radius around it constitute an explosion hazard zone.

    11. AFTER THE FIRE 11.1. Opening the cabinet • Do not open the cabinet until it has cooled down. That is 6 times the duration of the fire! • Only authorised personnel (e.g. fire brigade) may open the cabinet! Depending on the duration of the fire, a flammable mixture of vapour and air may have formed inside the cabinet and therefore all sources of ignition should be removed within a 10 m radius of the cabinet before opening it.

    13. RECYCLING The safety cabinet can be completely dismantled. The various elements making it up, such as metal, etc., can be eliminated separately for recycling. Please observe national and local waste disposal regulations in this regard. By their nature, the different elements of your wardrobe should under no circumstances be mixed with household waste.
