Repeat as necessary until you eliminate this rocking. You’re looking for a knee angle approximately between 27 and 37 degrees. BikeFit Pros and professional fitters use a goniometer or video capture software to identify these angles.

SADDLE HEIGHT CONT. Knee Pain If you experience pain in certain areas of the knee, saddle height changes can alleviate discomfort. • Pain in the front of the knee – move saddle • Pain in the back of the knee – move saddle down and/or forward.

TIP 2 – CLEAT ADJUSTMENT Cleat in = Foot Out On a clipless pedal, when you ”clip-in,” your foot is in a locked position. As you begin to pedal, your knee floats to it’s natural position and follows the foot into the downstroke.

TIP 3 – HAND POSITION Historically the most frequently used method of determining the handlebar’s rotation was putting the bottom of the drop parallel to the ground or level like the photo on the left. If you walk into most bike shops today, you are still likely see this. This position is not very comfortable for most riders.
