PBS-100 APPLICATION NOTES
PLAYBACK/RECORD CONFIGURATION
Ÿ To configure PBS as Playback Station, plug keyswitch connector to header position 1-4,
and plug indicator lamp connector to position 9-10. Indicator lamp legend should read
"CONTROL HERE".
Ÿ To configure PBS as Record Station, plug keyswitch connector to header position 5-8,
and plug indicator lamp connector to header position 11-12. Indicator lamp legend should
read "RECORD".
PLAYBACK STATION FEATURES
Playback Stations are always active to playback presets unless the following:
Ÿ Connect TERM 1 (Console Present) if PBS should be deactivated while console is active
(requires console present relay installed in main console).
Ÿ Connect TERM 2 (Terminal Indicator) if PBS should be deactivated while Terminal is
active.
Ÿ Connect TERM 1 to TERM 17 at the PBS station if KEY-ONLY access is desired for
playback functions (i.e. playback is enabled only while key is turned and held). Be certain
that Console Present is NOT also connected to TERM 1 if choosing this option.
When the key is turned and held, Playback Stations are active to playback presets
regardless of Console Present or Terminal Indicator unless the following:
Ÿ Connect TERM 14 (Backup Record Enable) to disable the keyswitch over-ride of Console
Preset and Terminal Indicator lockout features (i.e disables station when key is turned
and held). Be certain that TERM 1 is NOT connected to TERM 17 when choosing this
option; to do so would completely disable Playback Station in all situations. Note that this
feature actually enables Backup Record in order to disable the Playback Station; while
the key is turned and held any backup fader movement will record as a Backup Preset if
the system is configured for an AVAB Analog Backup console.
Note: TERM 15 (Analog Input 12) is not implemented in the PBS circuitry when configured as
a Playback Station.
RECORD STATION FEATURES
Record Stations are always active to playback presets unless the following:
Ÿ Connect TERM 1 (Console Present) if PBS should be deactivated while console is active
(requires console present relay installed in main console).
