4 INTENDED USE DHOLLANDIA tail lifts are designed to be fitted to commercial vehicles (commercial trucks, trailers and semi-trailers), and shall be used exclusively to load and unload the goods transported on the vehicle it is fitted to, within the limits of the load chart, in compliance with the operator instructions and safety instructions described in this manual.
In its travel position, the platform of the internal column lift is stowed inside the vehicle body. Before use, the platform is swivelled • out (DH-VZ / DH-VZG) or pulled out (DH-VZS) from a travel position inside the vehicle body to a work position just behind the vehicle floor.

Inspect the tail lift prior to each use. If any unsafe condition exists or unusual noises or movements are noticed, DO NOT use • the tail lift and contact an authorized DHOLLANDIA service agent for repair. Please see ‘pre-trip inspection’ procedures under 7.5 from page 18 onwards.

ALWAYS be sure to clearly identify to other drivers that the tail lift is in use. DHOLLANDIA recommends use of warning cones to clearly identify to drivers that the tail lift is being operated.

7.3 from page 15 onwards. • The DH-VZ* series are cargo lifts only. It’s platform is not designed to carry operators accompanying the load up / down on the platform.
The DH-VZ* series is not designed for use at loading docks. Therefore no specific instructions with regards to loadings docks, • are included in this manual. Therefore NEVER operate a DH-VZ* lift at a loading dock, without a prior detailed risk assessment by your health and safety • management, and without dedicated safe work instructions.

THE USE OF STABILIZING LEGS DHOLLANDIA tail lifts are available with 2 types of stabilizing legs: • → Hydraulic stabilizing legs are operated via the main external control box. They are available in capacities of 2.5 tons, 4 tons and 10 tons, and are therefore suitable for a wide range of commercial vans and trucks.
