Precision Time Protocol (gPTP)) on the end devices or switches. 8.2.2 Network TAP Mode NETLion 10G is also known as a Layer 1 TAP which means that incoming data is transmitted immediately upon receipt. Therefore, it is possible to use time synchronization protocols based on PTP together with NETLion 10G without problems This is not possible with Layer 2 TAPs which refer to the store-and-forward principle.
