    The media of HEPA filters is fragile and should not be touched. Avoid puncturing either HEPA filter during installation or normal operation. If you suspect that a HEPA filter has been damaged, DO NOT use the product. Contact a local certification agency or AirFiltronix.

    If you have any questions regarding certification agencies, or need assistance in locating one, contact AirFiltronix. Avoid the use of flammable gases or solvents in the product. Concentration of flammable or explosive gases or vapors must be kept below a safe limit. An open flame should NOT be used in the product.

    If the cabinet was damaged during the transportation, please file a claim directly with the freight carrier. AirFiltronix is not responsible for shipping damages. Do not discard the materials in which the cabinet was packed until all of the components have been checked, installed and tested.

    Test report If any of the components listed for the cabinet are missing, or in the case that any of the components are damaged, contact AirFiltronix immediately for further instructions. 2.2. Location Requirements The Ductless Fume Hood must be located as far as practicable from doors, fans, ventilation registers, other fume hoods and air-handling units that can adversely affect its airflow pattern.

    2.3. Moving the Fume Hood Moving the fume hood while it is still on its shipping pallet should be done using a pallet jack. Caution: Do not attempt to tilt the cabinet onto a hand truck!

    2.4. Installation A. Installing the fume hood on an existing work surface Caution: The ductless fume hood cabinet weighs between 90-230 kg. The shipping pallet allows for lifting with a mechanical lift truck or floor jack. If you must lift the cabinet manually, at least 2 people are required, and guidelines for safety must be strictly followed.
  • Page 11 Electrical Requirements The Ductless Fume Hood requires a single phase AC power. The following table provides the various ECO Ductless Fume Hood models’ requirements: Model Requirements 115 VAC, 2A, 60Hz 200T AB36 230 VAC, 1A, 50/60Hz 115 VAC, 3A, 60Hz 200T AB48 230 VAC, 1.5A, 50/60Hz The product is shipped with a power cable compatible with the requirements.

    3. Product Description 3.1. User Controls and Display Figure 3-1 shows the cabinet’s display after power has been turned on.   • Page 14 Touch a numerical field in order to set its value. A keypad will appear allowing the entry of the relevant value. The Display Units field allows setting the date format. Touch Save when done, and then touch the left arrow on the screen’s bottom left corner. Test Reminder: Figure 3-5 shows the Next Periodic Test screen.
  • Page 15 This screen can only be reached from the calibration screen, using a specific password. Set the Fan speed to the desired value that will be maintained until changed again. This will make it possible to wipe the screen clean without interfering with any activity in progress.

    4. Maintenance and Troubleshooting 4.1. Periodic Maintenance This cabinet requires very little maintenance for long, uninterrupted service.
