Canon
INSTRUCTIONS
Thank you for purchasing the Canon Extension Tube EF 25.
The Extension Tube EF 25 is an accessory exclusively de¬
signed for use with standard EF lenses to shoot at closer dis¬
tances with higher magnification. Since the magnification
changes according to the focal length of the lens, you can
easily make close-up shots of small subjects, insects or flow¬
ers. Furthermore, electronic signals between the camera and
lens are transferred through the extension tube's electronic
contacts, enabling you to use all of the camera's shooting
modes.
• Autofocus is not recommended.
• For usable EF lenses, refer to the chart below.
• EOS-1 's, EOS-5's and A2's spot metering cannot be used.
1. Mounting and Dismounting
1) Align the extension tube's red dot (for the camera) with the
camera's red dot, then turn the extension tube clockwise
until it stops with a click.
• Be sure to keep the electronic contacts clean to ensure
proper connection.
• To dismount the extension tube, press the lens release
button on the camera and turn the extension tube
counterclockwise.
• Be sure to place the extension tube with its front end down
to avoid damaging the electronic contacts.
2) Align the extension tube's red dot (for the lens) with the
lens' red dot and turn the lens clockwise until it stops with a
click.
• To dismount the lens, slide the release switch in the direc¬
tion of the arrow (refer to the nomenclature) and turn the
lens counterclockwise.
• If the shutter button is pressed with only the extension tube
attached, the camera may stop with the mirror up. If this
occurs, press the shutter button again.
• Do not use two or more extension tubes simultaneously.
• Other converters or extenders cannot be combined.
