    Connection Figure1 GPM connection outline 2.1 The GPM driver installation The main body of GPM and PC used are connected with the USB cable of the attachment. The driver file is included under CDROM/GPMDriver/ First you connect GPM to your PC, this window is shown.
  • Page 5 Select "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)" as shown in Figure below and then click "Next" Select "Search for the best driver in these locations". The driver is included in CDROM/GPMDriver/ folder. Please enter the file path in the combo-box ("C:\CDM 2.02.04" in figure below) or browse to it by clicking the browse button.

    If Windows XP is configured to warn when unsigned (non-WHQL certified) drivers are about to be installed, the message dialogue shown in Figure 2.10 will be displayed unless installing a Microsoft WHQL certified driver. Click on "Continue Anyway" to continue with the installation. If Windows XP is configured to ignore file signature warnings, no message will appear.

    2.2 Disabling driver signing check before installing USB driver of GPM 2.2.1 Outline In the 64 bit version of Windows® 8 or 8.1, unlike previous versions, Windows imposes strict limitations on driver signing. To install USB driver of GPM, it is required to disable this check temporally.
  • Page 8 Click “More PC Settings”. In Windows8, click “Restart Now” button under advanced setup. In Windows 8.1, “Restart now” button is moved to “PC Setting -> Update & Recovery -> Recovery” After restarting, click “Troubleshoot”.

    2.4 Connection with power supply/sensor DC24V is supplied between terminals 1 and 2 as shown in the figure below. Another 20 mA current is required in addition to the current for the sensors. The sensor is connected to terminal number 3-5. The number of sensors that can be connected with GPM at the same time is only one.

    Start/adjustment 3.1 Start Please connect GPM and connect PC with GPM and the sensor. (Please do not supply 24V power supply yet.) Double click the Icon of desktop named “GPM” The program starts as shown in the figure below. Please supply 24V power on GPM Information on the connected sensor is monitored.

    3.2 Saving and factory settings The common buttons on the tabs are 'Save to sensor eeprom' and 'Reset to factory settings'. The following are available. Save to sensor Press the button to store the setting in memory. eeprom Even if the power is switched off, the settings are still recorded. Reset to factory Press the button to restore the factory settings.

    3.3 Monitor The left sides of the screen are monitors of a present magnet position and the alarm state, etc. The update cycle is one second. (fixed) Serial number Serial number of product Output The analog output type or the digital output type is shown. Analogue 1ch/2ch Current analog output.

    3.4 Analog adjustment The 'Analog' tab allows you to change the zero and full point settings of the analogue output. ・Adjustment procedure After connection, turn on the GPM and make sure GYConfig (GPM software) and the sensor are connected. ・To make adjustments or change settings Any changes made to the data are immediately sent to the sensor and reflected, but are not yet stored in the sensor at this time.

    If you make changes to the data and turn off the power without clicking the "Save Settings to Sensor EEPROM" button, the sensor settings will revert to before the changes were made. 3.4.1 Analog Output Adjustment Procedure For sensors with two channels of analog outputs, the zero/full analog outputs can be changed individually.

    3.5 Digital adjustment The 'Digital' tab allows you to change the zero and full point settings of the digital output. It also sets the output specifications. 3.5.1 Digital output adjustment procedure The calculation of the digital output of the sensor determines the output data (in um) at the factory-set zero and full scale points in advance, and the distance is divided by the resolution.
