    1. Introduction Optimo is an electronic control system capable of controlling the right and left engines, the bow and stern thrusters, and the windlasses of any boat in a simple and intuitive way. The system consists of a receiver and a remote control from the Optimo series. 1.2.
  • Page 5: Important Rules Before Use

    The battery is provided with a protection system who inhibit the functioning in case of complete battery depletion, to avoid fires or explosions of the mentioned battery. If the battery level gets completely exhausted, it will be necessary to replace it at the Yacht Controller laboratories.

    To resume the command, return to the range. • Also, in the nearby presence of other Yacht Controller devices, operating at the same time on adjacent boats, improper activations are not possible because the transmitters continuously modify the communication frequency with the receivers.

    WARNING: When using Optimo, it is recommended to turn off radar, microwave oven, induction cooker hob and any other device emitting electromagnetic waves with a power higher than 1,000 W. These devices, sometimes of low quality and not compliant with the law on electromagnetic emissions, can interfere with the transmissions of the Optimo system, which by law cannot exceed 10 mW (100,000 times less).

    On / Off and engage button Figure 2: On/Off and engage button To make Optimo operating, press twice the engage (On-Off) button, within 10 seconds • between the first pressure and the second one. • If the operation was successful, the central unit’s acoustic signal stops. The two LEDs will flash signaling the transmission on the two bands, changing color according to the signal strength: green (full signal), white (good signal), purple (poor signal) and red (lost signal).

    3. Using the transmitter DANGER: The Optimo system should only be used by adults with all the qualifications necessary for the proper operation and management of the boat.     If supported, Optimo allows to set the acceleration profile used for the engines command. To add this function to the system, please, request it with surcharge from the Yacht Controller. The standard profiles are the following.

    If the battery gets completely exhausted, it will be necessary to replace it at the Yacht Controller laboratories. IMPORTANT: In case of non-compliance with the rules of use, the battery replacement WILL NOT BE COVERED BY WARRANTY.

    If the transmitter is turned on when it falls into the water, it may have irrevocable damage. Before using it again TEST IT COMPLETELY TIED UP AT DOCKSIDE OR IN A SECURE AREA. If you notice ANY anomalies, contact the retailer or Yacht Controller Customer Service.

    7. Warranty Each Yacht Controller system is warranted for 36 months, to the original purchaser from the date of sale by the manufacturer against defects of material and workmanship. This warranty does not include any labor costs or charges whatsoever and is strictly for the repair or replacement of the Yacht Controller unit or remote.
