In order to unpack your product without causing any damage to yourself or the product, please take care and follow the instructions.
  • Page 15 To remove the front glass panel, it will require firstly to be tilted forward to the top edge, to make this task easier 2 glass suction clamps are provided, place each suction clamp to the left and right hand side towards the top of the glass panel and operate each clamp ensuring that they have both firmly attached to the glass panel then gently pull both suction clamps evenly using the suction clamp handles to gently tilt the glass panel forward.

    Fending Bars & Fending Panels When unpacked the appliance is configured for front window viewing only. If the appliance is required to be 2- or 3-sided window viewing, then the side fender panels will require to be removed accordingly and the fender bar assemblies put in their place. Removal of each fender panel is undertaken by removing the retaining screws holding them to the appliance, this will reveal the glass side panels behind.

    Figure 4 – For front viewing only both side panels require to be covered as shown using the fender blanking plates and fender bars using the screws supplied to attach to the appliance. The appliance has the option of viewing the simulated fire from the front, from the front and 1 side or from the front and 2 sides by using the fender bars and plates to the configuration required.
  • Page 19  Screw the power cord kettle plug retaining bracket to the appliance using the 2 screws provided ensuring it retains the kettle type plug into position. See figures 6 to 9.  It is recommended at this stage to connect the appliance to the mains electrical supply and turn the appliance on and check the fire is operating correctly before proceeding further, if any issues are present, disconnect the appliance from the mains supply, and contact your retailer for assistance.

    3.2 Identifying & installing the fixing brackets to the appliance. The Azar EL-FD series of appliances have various bracket sets supplied depending on the installation requirements: Recessed false chimney breast / media wall fixing. For recessed media wall mounting there are 6 brackets supplied as shown to the left.

Using the longest side of each bracket, use the screws provided through the elongated slot and securely fix each bracket using 2 screws to the rear of the appliance top surface using the holes provided.
  • Page 23 Figure 15 Figure 16 The brackets are manufactured with elongated holes to allow some adjustment, example if the appliance is being installed into a suitable conventional fireplace the rebate of the fireplace must be large enough to accommodate the appliance plus a minimum of a 10mm clearance between the rear of the appliance and the wall it is fixed to, the brackets can be adjusted rearwards to meet the wall thus spanning the minimum 10mm clearance required.

    LED Mood Strip Lights (Optional extra) The LED strip mood light kit is an optional extra and if used must be installed at the time of appliance installation. The LED strip mood lights can be controlled by an independent handheld remote-control (supplied) or alternatively by App control.

There will be numerous styles and sizes of false chimney breasts and media walls that can be constructed to suit many tastes and requirements, as such it is impossible to cover all types however, below the basic safe requirements are outlined.

The appliance uses a PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) heater in conjunction with a fan blower, this type of PTC heater is self-controlling and self-regulating resulting in a heater that is safer, more energy-efficient, more reliable, and more consistent than a traditional heater.

    Remote Control This product requires 2 x AAA Alkaline standard batteries for use in the remote-control handset (Not supplied). Do not use the re-chargeable battery type. Lift the battery cover to the rear of the handset to reveal the battery compartment, refit the cover when the batteries are in place.
  • Page 41 Setting the colour functions Select each light function key that you wish to change colour, there are 3 lights that can be controlled from the right-hand side of the handheld remote control, the flame light key, ember light key and top down-light key. Press each light function key separately and then use the adjustment keys to change the colour, repeat this process for each light function separately.

    Using the App Showing the home page of the App, when using some functions, it will take you away from the home page, if you wish to return to the home page press the return arrow to the top left-hand side of the screen, this will take you back to the E-Ferno home page, press E-Ferno to load the home page.
