Pre-Construction Boards (PCB) are for temporary use as part of the installation process for any of the JBL Conceal Series of invisible
speakers into new construction. PCBs are designed to install during pre-wire and reserve the proper speaker opening as the wallboard is
installation around them.
Additionally, they prevent speakers from being exposed to the harsh construction environment. Each PCB is then replaced with a speaker
panel just before drywall seam finishing begins.
Pre-Construction Boards are available in each of the three speaker sizes and come 6 per carton. Pre-Construction Boards are designed to
be reusable and should be saved after each project.

After speaker locations have been selected, Pre-Construction Boards should be installed directly to the structural framing prior to the
installation of wallboard.
The Pre-Construction Boards have a groove around the edge that helps ensure it is centered properly on the structural framing.
The greatest exposure for damage to a speaker occurs during the construction phase. Pre-Construction Boards keep this exposure to a
minimum by allowing the speaker to be installed after construction has finished.
Pre-Construction Boards are built from ½" MDF and are sized slightly larger than a speaker panel. This ensures that no matter how tight the
drywall is hung to the PCB, the speaker panel will easily fit in place.
Step 1: Add additional framing so all four edges of the speaker panel can be securely attached.
Step 2: Mount the PCB over the framing to reserve the proper speaker opening.
Step 3: Install wallboard installed around all sides of the PCB.
Step 4: Remove the PCB and follow speaker installation instructions.
Step 5: The speaker is now ready to be finished according to the installation instructions.
