SAFETY ADVICE For your own safety, please read the user manual before using the MOVE Portable Mobility Scooter. Failure to follow these guidelines may result in damage to the product and put the user at risk. If in any doubt, contact your supplier directly for advice. - Please make sure that you are physically capable to operate this unit.
SAFETY ADVICE (CONTINUED) - Make sure the tiller is properly adjusted and in the locked position to suit the user to avoid damage and injury. - It is not allowed to have any person sitting in the scooter when transported by a vehicle, otherwise any injury or damage that might result.
EMI WARNING Scooters may be susceptible to electromagnetic interference (EMI), which is a kind of interfering electromagnetic energy (EM) emitted from sources such as radio stations, TV stations, amateur radio (HAM) transmitters, two-way radio and mobile phones. The interference (from radio wave sources) can cause the scooter to release its brakes, move by itself, or move in unintended directions.
EMI WARNING (CONTINUED) WARNINGS 1. Do not operate hand-held transceivers (transmitters-receivers), such as citizens band (CB) radios, or turn ON personal communication devices, such as mobile phones, while the scooter is turned ON. 2. Be aware of nearby transmitters, such as radio or TV stations, and try to avoid coming close to them.
UNPACK and INSPECT SUPPLIED PARTS We recommend that you thoroughly inspect all the supplied parts prior to assembling and using the MOVE Portable Mobility Scooter. SCOOTER SET UP PRIOR TO USE Please read through the entire user manual prior to setting up and using the scooter. The user manual has been layed out in a logical order for instruction on how to set up, use, pull apart for transport and care for the MOVE Portable Mobility Scooter. However you may need to revert back to the contents page to locate information on a specific aspect of the scooter.
CONNECT BASE Please follow these instructions to connect the front assembly with the rear assembly: Step 1: Place the rear wheel assembly directly behind the front assembly as shown. CONNECT BASE (CONTINUED) NOTE: Seat The rear wheel assembly Post must be resting on the main wheels and the anti tipper wheels. Step 2: Lift the front assembly up by the top of the seat post. Move the front assembly under the front of the rear wheel assembly and then lift up to locate the mount axle onto the axle cradles on the rear wheel assembly.
Step 1: RAISE TILLER Undo the tiller knob. Please follow these instructions to raise the tiller: Step 2: Raise the tiller to the required angle. Step 3: Whilst holding the tiller at the required angle Tighten the tiller knob until the tiller is firmly held in position.
UNLOCK TILLER The tiller should be locked in position when the scooter is pulled apart. This stops the tiller from swinging when the front assembly is being moved. Please follow these instructions to unlock the tiller: Tiller Lock Knob Important Note: Check to ensure that the tiller is UNLOCKED prior to use.
FIT BASKET Please follow these instructions to fit the basket to the tiller: Step 1: Line up the 3 square holes in the rear of the basket with the mount clips on the tiller. Step 2: Push basket down onto top and bottom mount clips at the same time.
FIT BATTERY PACK Please follow these instructions to fit the battery pack to the scooter: Step 1: Undo knob and raise up battery pack clamp. Tighten tri wheel until the clamp stays up on the seat post. Step 2: Place battery pack Seat into recess in base.
FIT SEAT Please follow these instructions to fit the seat to the scooter: Seat Lever Step 1: Seat Pole Using the correct lifting technique pull up the Seat Post seat lever and lift up the seat at the same time . Step 2: Approach the scooter at an angle and tilt the seat up so...

PREPARING THE SCOOTER FOR USE It is very important that the MOVE Portable Mobility Scooter is set up to suit the user so they feel comfortable and have full control when operating the scooter. Refer to the following pages for instruction on how to: - Rotate up armrests (for access) - Rotate seat (for access)
ROTATE UP ARMRESTS The armrests on the MOVE Portable Mobility Scooter can be rotated up to allow for improved access when going to sit on the scooter. Please follow these Armrest instructions to rotate the armrest on the scooter: Step 1: Rotate up the required armrest.

ADJUST ARMREST WIDTH The MOVE Portable Mobility Scooter has width adjustable armrests. Please follow these instructions to adjust the armrest width as required: Step 1: Knob Undo knobs. Step 2: Slide out armrests to the required width setting. Ensure armrest are evenly spaced away from the seat.
ADJUST ARMREST ANGLE The MOVE Portable Mobility Scooter has angle adjustable armrests. Please follow these instructions to adjust the armrest angle as required: Step 1: Rotate armrest up. ADJUST TILLER ANGLE The MOVE Portable Mobility Scooter has an angle adjustable tiller. Please follow these instructions to adjust the armrest width as required: SET UP GUIDELINE To promote the correct sitting posture: The tiller should be within easy reach when the users back is leaning on the backrest.

CHARGING BATTERY PACK The MOVE Portable Mobility Scooter is supplied with rechargeable maintenance free hybrid gel batteries which MUST BE charged using the supplied battery charger. WARNING! FAILURE TO USE CORRECT AND SPECIFIED CHARGER MAY RESULT IN DEATH, DAMAGE OR CANCELLATION OF WARRANTY AND STATUTORY PROTECTIONS.

PREPARE TO RIDE SCOOTER Sit on the scooter and rest your feet on the footplate. Important note: ALWAYS operate the scooter sitting down. Never stand up and operate the scooter. We recommend that you only rest your feet on the footrest as shown above and not on the front cover of the scooter as it might scratch and cause damage to the plastic covers.

OPERATING THE SCOOTER Getting Started - Select a level area with plenty of space. - Ensure you are comfortable on the scooter prior to driving. Adjust setting as required. Scooter Movement - Push in the key to turn on the power. - Turn the speed dial all the way to the left (Tortoise) to allow slow movement.
RESET THE BATTERY PACK The MOVE Portable Mobility Scooter is fitted with a main circuit breaker with a reset button. When the voltage on the scooter battery pack becomes low or the scooter is heavily strained because of excessive load or travelling up a steep incline, the main circuit breaker may trip to protect the motor and the electronics on...
DISENGAGE MOTOR Please follow these instructions to disengage the motor so the scooter can be pushed around without power when required (Freewheeling): IMPORTANT NOTE - NEVER disengage the motor on an incline. - Never ride the scooter when the motor is disengaged as the braking system is also disengaged.
PULL APART THE SCOOTER Please follow these instructions to pull apart the MOVE Portable Mobility Scooter in the correct order for transport or storage. SEAT REAR ASSEMBLY BATTERY PACK IMPORTANT NOTE If you are ever unsure about any aspect of the MOVE Portable Mobility Scooter please do not use and contact your supplier for support.
REMOVE THE SEAT Step 1: Fold the Please follow these instructions to remove the seat from the scooter: backrest down onto the seat. NOTE: Use the correct lifting technique when lifting the seat as it weighs 11kg. Step 2: Pull the seat lever up and at the same time pull the seat up and away from the scooter.
REMOVE BATTERY PACK Please follow these instructions to remove the battery pack from the scooter: Step 1: Lift up the battery pack clamp. Refer to page 16 for further information. Step 1: Remove the battery pack from the scooter. NOTE: Use the correct lifting technique when removing the battery pack as it weighs 16kg.
FOLD DOWN TILLER Please follow these instructions to fold down the tiller: Step 1: Remove the basket from the tiller. Step 2: Lock the tiller in place. Refer to page 14 for further information. Step 3: Whilst holding the tiller, undo the tiller knob and gently lower the tiller down...
PULL APART THE BASE Please follow these instructions to seperate the front assembly from the rear assembly: Pull the lock / release handle up and slightly lift the front assembly it is connected to. The rear assembly will rock backward and rest on the anti tipper wheels. Whilst still holding the handle up - Roll the front assembly slightly forward and lower the handle down.
LIFTING THE SCOOTER Once the MOVE Portable Mobility Scooter is pulled apart it each part can be picked up and moved as required. Take care when lifting the scooter and always use the correct lifting technique: - Lift with bent knees. FRONT - Keep your back straight.
TROUBLESHOOTING If the MOVE Portable Mobile Scooter fails to operate please check the following aspects: - Unit is switched on. - Battery has been fitted. - All plugs and cable connections are firmly fitted. - Battery level shows full charge. - Motor has been engaged.
INSPECT / MAINTAIN / SERVICE INSPECTIONS Visually and physically look over the MOVE Portable Mobile Scooter for signs of damage or wear prior and during use. Inspect the entire scooter and particular attention to the following areas: Tyres / Seat / Backrest / Armrests / Tiller / Display / Handgrips / Fixings Check to ensure that all parts work and scooter can be controlled as required.
CLEANING THE SCOOTER Clean the MOVE Portable Mobility Scooter on a regular basis. You must take extreme care when cleaning any electrical aspect of the scooter as water or fluid of any kind can cause severe damage. - Remove the battery pack from the scooter prior to cleaning. - Only use a soft damp cloth and a non-abrasive cleaning solution or mild detergent.
WARRANTY The IKON Mobility MOVE Portable Mobility Scooter (IK4SE) is covered by the following warranty from the date of purchase: The Warranty Terms and Conditions noted below provide your IKON Mobility scooter with excellent coverage against possible defective parts or possible faulty workmanship.
