Press the ON button once then press and hold the
ON button again until the laser star symbol on the
LCD remains ON, you can now release the button.
To take a reading, press the ON button as normal.

Doubling Up
To double up a reading for the total wall length of
a room where the parallel walls are the same
length, measure the two differing wall lengths and
add them together.
Press the '+' button then the '=' button and the
combined value will be displayed.
Pythagorean Height
Measurement...
This enables you to
measure the height
(or width) of a wall
when standing to the
side (see illustration).
Switch the unit ON
then press the '0'
button once. Press and hold the 'f' button until
'Fnc 4' and a triangle symbol appears on the LCD
display, then press the '=' button to confirm the
function.
Aim at the upper point (1) and press the ON button
followed by the '=' button.
Next press the ON button for approximately 5
seconds, the unit will emit a beam continuously.
Point the beam at the wall (2) keeping the beam
horizontal, then press the ON button followed by
the '=' button.
Finally aim the beam at the lower point (3) press
the ON button followed by the '=' button.
If the battery power is low, the batteries must
be replaced. To do this, switch the unit OFF
then open the rear cover using a coin (see
illustration).
Remove the four used batteries and
replace, the correct way round, with 4
new ones. Finally replace the
rear cover by reversing the
Battery
removal procedure.

The LCD will now display the height (or width) of
the wall.
Never push the equipment beyond its design
limits. If it will not do what you want with reasonable
ease and speed, assume you have the wrong tool for the
job. Contact your local HSS Hire Shop for advice.
Keep the equipment clean, you will find this less of a
chore if you clean it regularly, rather than wait until the
end of the hire period.
When not in use, store the equipment somewhere
clean, dry and safe from thieves.
Switch the unit OFF and place it back in its carry
case ready for return, to your local HSS Hire Shop.
