Note that the ice-box is for making ice. It is NOT a
freezer and should not be used for storing frozen
food. It will not keep frozen food fresh for more than a
day or so.
To minimise the need for defrosting, avoid leaving
the fridge door open any longer than necessary.
If using the SITE HOB...
Having switched ON the hob at is power supply, simply
turn the hot-plate controls to the desired heat
setting and start cooking!
Do not leave the hob on without having a
saucepan/kettle on it. Damage may occur.
EQUIPMENT CARE
Never push the equipment beyond its design
limits. If it will not do what you want with reasonable
ease, assume you have the wrong tool for the job.
Contact your local HSS Hire Shop for advice.
Handle the equipment with care. Avoid dropping it,
knocking it, or otherwise exposing it to damage.
Never expose the equipment to dangerous and/or
corrosive chemicals.
Keep the equipment clean. You will find this less of a
chore if you clean up regularly, rather than wait until the
end of the hire period.
When not in use, store the equipment somewhere
clean, dry and safe from thieves.
Defrosting
Defrost the fridge regularly, before an overly thick layer
of ice has built up in and around the ice-box.
Simply empty the fridge and switch OFF . Leave the
door open and use a towel on the base of the fridge
to soak up the water from any defrosting ice.
Never attempt to chisel or prise off ice deposits with
knives, chisels and so on. You will damage the fridge.
FINISHING OFF
If using the SITE FRIDGE...
Empty the fridge and defrost (see Equipment Care),
unplugging it from its power source and neatly coiling
the flex ready for return.
If using the SITE HOB...
Switch OFF and UNPLUG the hob before leaving it to
cool and neatly coiling its flex ready for return.
WHATEVER you are using...
Finally, clean the equipment with a clean, damp
cloth (never use abrasive cleaning agents) ready for
return to your local HSS Hire Shop.
Fridge Storage
If you intend storing the fridge for any length of time
before returning it, always store it with its door
wedged slightly open to allow air to circulate. This
prevents a musty smell building up inside.
