SM32 INSTRUCTION MANUAL
Requirements
SM32
3m Tripod Mount with Stay Bars
BK01
Universal Batten Kit for Metal Roofs
(Sold separately if required)
Installation Site
The selected roof installation location must be carefully
inspected to ensure it is structurally sound and in good
repair before installation. Please also ensure the roof
location chosen is suitable for optimal signal and accepted
by the customer before installation.
Warning
The SM32 relies upon the strength of the purlin-rafter
joint to transfer the wind load to the building structure.
Therefore, joints near the mast must be inspected to ensure
they are suitable and structurally sound.
Safety Warning
Dangerous live electrical cables may be behind roof sheets/
building cladding. Please ensure an earth leakage protection
safety device is used when drilling into any surfaces. Please
ensure appropriate personal protective equipment is used
during your installation. This may include but is not limited
to gloves, goggles, safety boots and a harness when
working at heights.
Installation Limitations
The SM32 can be installed to a maximum height of 8.5m
above ground level to comply with maximum loading. The
roof must not exceed 30 degrees slope and have cladding
rib heights between 16 and 30mm.
Rafter and Batten spacings must be between 900mm
minimum and 1200mm maximum.
The SM32 mount is only designed for standard corrugated
cladding profiles like CUSTOM ORB
such as TRIMDEK
or SPANDEK
®
must be used to fasten at the anchor locations (BK01 sold
separately).
The SM32 is not suitable for tiled roofs or light gauge metal
frame roofs.
Mast and Stay Arms
The SM32 is a fixed height 3m mast. The stay
bars are designed to run down the roof from
the main mast and have a maximum allowable
install length of 3500mm. See figure 1.

Installation Guide
Step 1: After selecting a suitable
roof position and confirming with |
your client, first install the clevis
bracket by removing any existing
roof screws, apply roofing silicone
to the penetration points, penetrations should only be
through the ridges of the roof sheeting, seat the two
cyclone washers and then fasten down the clevis bracket
using the two Type 17 x 65mm TEK
Step 2: Fasten the two supplied
duo cleat brackets to the roof
with the centre bolt within
+-100mm of a roof rafter and
batten joint. Place two supplied
rubber washers underneath the
duo cleat bracket and fasten to
the roof with two supplied
Type 17, 65mm wood screws
and then repeat the process for
the second duo cleat. (use roofing silicon on all penetration
points). Next, place the flattened end of the inner (smaller)
telescoping stay tubes over the M10 threaded stud and
loosely fit the supplied M10 nut to secure it in place lightly.
Ensure the weep holes are on the underside of the stay bar.
See figure 3.
Note: The flattened ends of the stay
bars can be adjusted to suit the
installation angle by simply bending with
an appropriate tool like a vice grip or
adjustable wrench.
Warning: If fixing to metal batten roofs (0.42-1.5mm thick),
use either the supplied duo cleats or use the required
cyclonic metal batten kit (BK01 sold separately) and
fasten, replacing all Type 17, 65mm wood screws with
Buildex

Step 3: Seat the square tube
mast holder into the clevis
bracket and secure it using a
5/16" x 3" hex head bolt with
nut, a flat 5/16" washer and a
5/16" spring washer. Gently
tighten into place. Then,
using your spirit level, ensure
the square tube is plumb
and secure into place using
your drill with a 5/16" TEK
bit. Drill the four 10G x 16mm
TEK
®
screws into the pre-
piloted holes to secure them
into place. Be careful not to
over-drill the self-tapping
screws; otherwise, they
could shear off in the thicker
tube steel. See figure 4.
Step 4: Take your 3m mast,
and using a pipe clamp or
similar support tool, clamp it
to the mast below halfway.
Now fit the sliding stay bar
holder by inserting it over
the top of the 3m mast
and resting on the support
clamp just fitted. There is a
predrilled hole in the mast;
the shorter end from this
point is the top of the mast.
