  • Page 9 1.Light Description The U1 Smart Light is comprised of 2 outer rings of red & white LEDs respectively and an inner strip of RGB LEDs. Through the use of a proprietary algorithm the light can switch from rear light (red) to front light (white).

    2.Operation Changing Modes To set the U1 Smart Light on either Rear or Front Mode, power it on by pressing & holding the power button until you see light. After getting a battery reading (displayed via a colored light bar), hold the light in one of these 4 positions to trigger the correct mode.

    3.Direct Charging The U1 Smart Light can be charged directly via a water proof USB-C port located on the rear side. Whilst plugged in, the light will display a green bar showing charging percentage. A full green bar indicates a full charge.

    4.Charging Case Basics When purchased in twos, the Smart Lights come with a Charging Case. The Charging Case can carry and charge up to 2 Smart Lights simultaneously.
  • Page 13 Charging Lights in the Case To charge the Smart Lights in the Charging Case, position each light in either dock, making sure the pins on the Smart Light are aligned with the pins on the Charging Case (the magnets will pull the Smart Light into position when aligned correctly).
  • Page 14 Pass-through Charging The Charging Case itself can be charged via the USB-C port on the side. When plugged in alone, it will only charge itself. When plugged in with 1 or 2 Smart Lights docked in, it will first charge the Smart Lights and only once they are fully charged, charge its internal battery.

  • Page 16 Universal Mount To install a Universal Mount: 1. Choose a rubber strap (A) of the required length (2 available). 2. Install the rubber strap (A) on 1 end of the mount core (B). 3. Tighten the rubber strap around the seat post/handlebar (C), making sure it is tightly fastened.
  • Page 17 4. Control orientation by lightly loosening the inner screw (D) and rotating the dock (E) into the desired position (horizontal or vertical). The screw (D) can be taken off completely to release the dock (E) and reinstall it in an offset position. 5.

  • Page 19 Saddle Mount To install a Saddle Mount: 1. Remove the screws (A) to fully disassemble the clamp. 2. Position the top half of the clamp (B) over the tube structure underneath your saddle. 3. Position the bottom clamp (C) under the tubes. 4.

  • Page 21 Helmet Mount To install a Helmet Mount: 1. Clean the helmet prior to installation – use a damp cloth and wait for it to dry up. 2. Turn on a Smart Light (A) and dock it into the mount (B) to make sure it fits in the desired mode. Remove the back film (C) of the mount, exposing the sticky surface.
  • Page 22 Position the mount (B) on the helmet and press firmly for 40 seconds. Check if the mount is secure by docking and undocking a Smart Light (A). And mount your Smart Light magnetically for riding.
  • Page 23 Clip Mount To install a Clip Mount: 1. Open the clip (A) to hook the mount where you want. 2. Turn on the Smart Light (B) and dock it to make sure the position of the Smart Light is correct. Mount your Smart Light (B) magnetically for riding.

    7.Function guide UNIT 1 App The U1 Smart Lights are compatible with our Companion App. The App will allow you to customize the lights to your liking, track battery levels across multiple U1 devices and access the Crash Alert feature if you have a U1 Helmet.

    If your U1 SMART LIGHT or CHARGING CASE is found to be defective in materials or workmanship within one year from the date of purchase, Unit 1 Gear, Inc. will at its sole option either repair or replace the helmet free of charge. This warranty does not affect your statutory rights.
