UNPACKING THE BOX & PREPARING THE AREA After reviewing the safety warnings above, take the PathGuard Mat to the spot where it is going to be used and unpack it there. Save the packaging materials for storing the mat off-season. Save these instructions in case you need to look at them again.
INSTALLING THE STAIR MATS First, lay the PathGuard Stair Mats on consecutive steps, orienting the mats so the cable connectors are on the side closest to the outlet. Next, connect multiple mats together by connecting the male connector of one mat to the female connector of the next mat. To do this, align the male and female connectors and firmly push the cables together so they are flush with each other.
TESTING THE POWER UNIT For general safety, the PathGuard Mat is supplied with a Power Unit. The Power Unit turns off the power if any of the electric current begins leaking to ground. It is important to test the Power Unit each time the mat is installed and before use.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Why don’t the mats feel warm when I touch them? When you turn on the mats, they may not feel warm to the touch, but that’s ok. This is especially true when the air temperature outside is very cold. This is because the temperature of your hand is greater than the temperature of the mat.
