  • Page 5 PART 2 Safety Issues The major hazards presented by the use of this equipment arise from: The use of compressed air potentially causing dangerous flying objects, debris re-circulation and inhalation and noise either through planned or unplanned release. The use of dry ice (solid carbon dioxide), a substance of extreme cold capable of causing burns and death by asphyxiation.

    Part 5 Maintenance Although the blast unit has been designed for minimum BLAST UNIT maintenance, Clean Surface recommends the following service schedule carried regular basis to ensure trouble free operation.   • Page 10 Whenever the Blaster is used the Air Supply Hose and Blast HOSES Hose Assembly should be examined for damage and wear before start-up. THE SYSTEM MUST NOT BE STARTED IF ANY HOSES ARE DEFECT. The most critical elements are the hoses which carry compressed air.
  • Page 11 Remove the Blast Nozzle from the Hose Assembly and clean BLAST NOZZLE as appropriate. Check the compressed air and dry ice inlets for any signs of wear and ensure that the removable outlet nozzle is free of any obstruction. On refitting the outlet nozzle ensure that it is fully screwed in and tight enough not to come loose in service.
