  • Page 12: Static Electricity Precautions

Introduction Static Electricity Precautions Liquid chromatograph (LC) uses flammable organic solvent(s) as the mobile phase. LC systems are also often used where large amount of flammable substances are present. Thus, an accident can produce large scale damage. Operators must be constantly on guard against accidents involving fire or explosion. The major cause of these accidents is static electricity.
  • Page 13: Preventing Static Electricity Accidents

Static Electricity Precautions Preventing Static Electricity Accidents The best way to prevent static electricity accidents is simply to prevent the occurrence and accumulation of electrostatic charges. CAUTION • It is important to take multiple preventive measures simultaneously. • If large amounts of flammable solvents are collected in a large container, implement preventative measures 1, 2, and 3 below.

Configuration Overview The FCV-20AH (hereinafter referred to as the instrument) is a high-pressure 6-port, 2-position valve driven by a motor to switch. The flow line channels can be controlled by either button operation on its front panel or remotely through contact signals to terminals on its rear panel. Since this valve is designed for use under high-pressure conditions (pressure capacity 34.3MPa), it is suitable for an extremely wide range of applications, including automatic column switching, automatic sample pretreatment, flow line switching, and as an auto drain valve, etc.
