OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
2-1 INSPECTION
This i n s t r u m e n t was thoroughly tested a n d inspected before being
shipped f r o m the factory. After the i n s t r u m e n t i s unpacked, i t
should be carefully checked f o r any damage received i n transit.
If any shipping damage is found, follow the procedure outlined i n
the "Claim f o r Damage i n Shipment" section on the l a s t page of
this instruction book.
CONTROLS AND TERMINALS
FUSE
The fuseholder, located on the control panel, contains a c a r t r i d g e
fuse of the Slo-Blo type. F o r 115-volt operation, a 1.6-ampere
fuse i s used, and f o r 230-volt operation, a n . 8 - a m p e r e fuse of the
s a m e type is used. C h a r a c t e r i s t i c s of the Slo-Blo fuse u s e d i n the
Model 206A a r e given i n the Table of Replaceable P a r t s .
POWER
This r o t a r y switch controls the power supplied to the i n s t r u m e n t
f r o m the power l i m Illumination of the tuning dial window p r o -
vides indication that the power switch i s turned on.
IMPEDANCE
The setting of this four -position r o t a r y s w i t c h indicates the i m -
pedance a t the output binding posts. In t h r e e positions (50, 150,
and 600) the switch connects windings of the impedance -matching
t r a n s f o r m e r to the OUTPUT binding posts f o r balanced 50-ohm,
150-ohm, o r 600-ohm operation. In the fourth position, 600G, the
switch bypasses the impedance -matching t r a n s f o r m e r and a r r a n g e s
the output c i r c u i t f o r 600-ohm unbalanced operation.
CT OUTPUT G
The Model 206A binding posts will accept e i t h e r a banana plug o r
wire. The t e r m i n a l s a r e s o a r r a n g e d that any double banana plug
with 314 inch spacing may be used to connect t o any p a i r of adja-
cent t e r m i n a l s .
