  • Page 100: Ink System Ink System And Air

Ink System Ink System and Air The wallPen Ink System has been specially designed to ensure the most reliable ink supply in the tightest of spaces while making the ink refill as easy as possible. Anyway, ink supply has generally one main enemy: AIR ! If there are air bubbles in the pipe system, the failure of one or more nozzles is very likely.
  • Page 101 Printhead Unit Treatment before each new print job If the wallPen is not used for some time, if air pressure changes considerably or if the print head unit is shaken during transport, even small amounts of air may pass through the nozzles into the ink system.
  • Page 102: Ink Refill

Therefore, it is very important to keep air away from the printheads. The wallPen E2 uses aluminum bags as tanks, which can be refilled cleanly and quickly from bottles at the back of the printhead housing.

9.1.5 Vertical Axis Brake Release The wallPen E2 is equipped with a high-quality motor brake on the vertical drive. In the de-energized state, the brake is closed, so it blocks the motor. This prevents the entire slide unit, including the print head, from falling down in the event of a power failure, possibly causing lasting damage or even injury.

Calibration Calibration The wallPen E2 uses four (optionally expected to be available from Q4/2021 five) single printheads to print colors CMYK (W). Since these printheads are mounted separately and they must be calibrated to each other in order to achieve optimum printing results.

A big advantage of UV printing is the wide range of substrates that can be printed without problems. The wallPen UV ink is also particularly suitable for indoor printing, which, according to the manufacturer, contains hardly any chemical plasticizers and is therefore unlikely to evaporate.

Miscellaneous 10.2 wallPen Glass Magic When to use Glass Magic? wallPen Glass Magic is used on smooth, non-absorbent surfaces such as glass or some ceramic tiles. What does Glass Magic? wallPen Glass Magic destroys the oxygen layer on surfaces. This creates the optimal basis for UV inks to bond firmly and permanently to the substrate.
  • Page 125 A simple and effective way to remove the UV ink applied to a smooth surface with wallPen Glass Magic is to use a ceramic field scraper or conventional razor blade. When using solvents, there is a risk that the dissolved UV ink will smear, making it even more difficult to remove the ink without leaving a residue.
