  • Page 10 PRE - OPERATION INSPECTION 1. ENGINE OIL • Well maintained engine oil is essential for engine performance and longevity. Never use engine oil with additives or 2-stroke gasoline engine oil. • Check engine when it is stopped and on level ground. NOTE Always use 4-stroke engine oil with API service classification SE or equivalent.
  • Page 11 PRE - OPERATION INSPECTION OIL DRAINING DIAGRAM CAUTION Used engine oil may cause skin cancer if repeatedly in contact with the skin for prolonged periods. It is advisable to thoroughly wash your hands with soap and water as soon as possible after handling used oil. Always dispose of used engine oil in accordance to local regulations and manner that is safe for the environment.

Connect its negative lead to the engine mounting screw, base screw or other grounding point with the engine. Check the battery’s connecting point;...
  • Page 14 PRE - OPERATION INSPECTION WARNING 1. The battery may give off explosive gas, keep sparks, flames and cigarettes away. Charge or use it indoors with good ventilation. 2. The battery contains sulphuric acid (electrolyte). Contact with skin or eyes may cause severe burns. 3.

  • Page 16 EXHAUST CONTROL SYSTEM SERVICE While the engine is running, carbon monoxide, oxide of nitrogen and hydrocarbon will be produced. In certain conditions, oxide of nitrogen and hydrocarbon will react chemically each other to make smoke. Carbon monoxide is toxic and potentially lethal. Therefore, exhaust control is very is important. The exhaust emissions have been minimized with the use fuel efficient carburetors and other devices in the engine.

    SERVICE DU SYSTÈME DE COMMANDE D’ÉCHAPPEMENT Pendant que le moteur tourne, du monoxyde de carbone, de l’oxyde d’azote et de l’hydrocarbure seront produits. Dans certaines conditions, l’oxyde d’azote et l’hydrocarbure réagissent chimiquement l’un l’autre pour produire de la fumée. Le monoxyde de carbone est toxique et potentiellement mortel.
