The posts of the MIRADOR 111S pergola are secured to the ground using four foot plates. To fix the corner pillars, holes must be drilled through each foot plate using a hammer drill. The pergola must be firmly and permanently secured to ensure stability.

Can the pillars of the 111s be cut down shorter to account for an uneven mounting surface?

No, the manual does not mention cutting the pillars. Instead, it advises adjusting the height of the lower pillars using leveling methods if the mounting surface is uneven. Cutting the pillars may be considered improper use and could void the warranty.
