  • Page 11 2. Operating Guide 2.1 Inserting / Removing a Memory Card Ensure the camcorder is powered off. Insert a MicroSD card into the MicroSD card slot. The MicroSD card can only be inserted one way. Do not force it through. Once successfully inserted, it will click in.

Once the camcorder is powered on, press the power button to cycle between Recording Videos / Shooting Photographs / Settings / Playback.

  • Page 14 2.14 Connecting to a Smartphone STEP 1: Download the Smartphone App To wirelessly operate the MNX5K1 camcorder you will need to install the “iSmart DV2” app on your Android or iOS device. Scan the QR Code below to download the app.
  • Page 15 The status LED will blink BLUE while searching for a Wi-Fi connection. Go in to your smartphone’s Wi-Fi network settings menu, turn all wireless settings ON and connect to the network named “Minolta MNX5K1_XXXXXX” to join the network. The Wi-Fi password is 1234567890.
  • Page 16 STEP 4: Operating the iSmart DV2 App Your camcorder can now integrate with your smartphone. Upon launching the app, you will need to connect your camcorder. Tap the “Add New Camera” and then select “Wi-Fi Connect”, this will connect your camcorder to the app. It will initially default to the video recording function.

  • Page 18 Recording Videos Remotely 1. To start recording a video, tap the Video icon on the smartphone’s screen to enter video recording mode. Then tap the record button at the center of the bottom of the app. While a video is recording remotely, the status indicator LED will flash blue.
  • Page 19 Shooting Photos Remotely 1. Switch to Photo mode by tapping the Camera icon on the bottom right corner of the smartphone’s screen. To capture a photo, tap the Camera icon at the center of the bottom of your smartphone screen. 2.
  • Page 20 Shooting Time Lapse Remotely 1. Switch to Time Lapse mode by tapping the Camera icon on the bottom right corner of the smartphone’s screen. The Time Lapse mode can be changed to Video Time Lapse and Photo Time Lapse. Simply tap the icon in the top right corner of the smartphone’s screen to enter the setting menu.
  • Page 21 Viewing Media on the App To view your photos and videos on the app, tap the Media icon at the bottom left corner of the smartphone’s screen. Tap “Image” to view saved photos and tap “Video” to view saved videos. Tap the photo or video file you wish to view.
  • Page 22 To download media to your smartphone or to delete media from the camcorder, tap “Choose” at the top left corner of the smartphone’s screen. Then select the images or videos, then select the trash icon to delete or the send icon to download.
  • Page 23 Changing Camcorder Settings on the App Settings can also be accessed through the app. Tap the Settings icon at the top right corner of the smartphone’s screen to launch the Settings menu. The Video record settings can be accessed while in Video Record mode and the Photo settings can be accessed while in Photo mode.
  • Page 24 3. MENU & SETTINGS INTERFACE Overview Your camcorder comes preset with some user-adjustable settings to fine tune and customize how you would like your camcorder to function. The settings are already optimized and preset for the easiest experience. Before you begin, ensure you are in SETTINGS mode. From the main screen, press the MODE button until you see three icons on the screen.
  • Page 25 3.1.2 Record Audio This function allows you to turn audio recording in video recording on and off. 1. In Video Setup mode, use the UP or DOWN buttons to highlight the video camera icon, then press the OK button to enter the settings mode. 2.

Before you begin, ensure you are in Video Time Lapse mode. While in Video mode, press and hold the OK button to enter the video mode selection screen. Then use the UP or DOWN buttons to select Video Time Lapse, then press the OK button to enter that mode.

Before you begin, ensure you are in Slow Motion mode. While in Video mode, press and hold the OK button to enter the video mode selection screen.
