Wireless tilt angle sensor DU-BLE (hereinafter - ‘sensor’, ‘device’, ‘article’, ‘angle sensor’ or ‘DU-BLE), manufactured by the Escort Monitoring Systems, is designed to measure the angle at which certain parts of machinery and mechanisms tilt and to determine the direction in which such parts rotate (if set to the corresponding mode) relative to the gravity.
4 Operating modes MODE NAME BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE MODE TRANSMITTED DATA Transport Used for transporting and storing the sensor. The accelerometer is turned off to save energy; no measurements are taken. Vertical rotation control Used to determine the direction of rotation of the sensor Transmitted data format: in a plane parallel to the sensor installation plane (except for rotation parallel to the ground plane) and/or...
5 Description of operating modes 5.1 Vertical rotation control This mode has 2 formats of transmitted data: 1) Direction only - used, for example, to control the direction of rotation of a concrete mixer. The sensor is installed according to fig. 2. Depending on the direction of rotation around the axis, a trigger event is transmitted: when rotating to the right the transmitted value is 1, when rotating to the left - the value is 2.
Fig.3 Vertical rotation mode settings. You can select the values that will be transmitted during operation. 5.2 Horizontal rotation control This mode also has 2 transmission data formats: 1) Direction only - used, for example, to control the direction of rotation of a concrete mixer. The sensor is installed on the side surface (Fig.4).
Page 9
The rotation speed will be calculated by the sensor after the first three full rotations. You can learn more about how to set up speed recognition on the monitoring platform in this manual https://docs.google.com/document/d/13xV8zCP8JVlJ-dzKR4HQJ8sr28X-L5w_0APE2Nq293E/edi t?usp=sharing Fig. 4 DU-BLE placement on a concrete mixer in horizontal rotation mode.

Fig.5 In rotation mode you can activate total revolutions and RPM transmission 5.2.1 Configuring the sensor on the monitoring platform DU BLE on Wialon configuration is shown in this manual https://docs.google.com/document/d/13xV8zCP8JVlJ-dzKR4HQJ8sr28X-L5w_0APE2Nq293E/edi t?usp=sharing 5.3 Horizontal inclinometer In "1 axis" measurements mode, the sensor records deviations in only one axis - the pitch axis - from the zero point, which must be set after selecting the mode and installing the sensor at the moment when the mechanism is on a flat surface in the stowed position.
Page 12
In “2 axes” measurements mode, you can track rotation about the pitch and roll axes. If you place the sensor on the surface, set it to 0 and point the convex part away from you, then the roll axis will pass through the center of the sensor away from you and forward, and the pitch axis will pass from left to right through the center of the sensor.
5.4 Vertical inclinometer In vertical mode, the sensor is installed on the edge, with the convex part to the right. The pitch axis passes through the center of the sensor away from you and forward. The roll axis is from left to right through the center of the sensor.
5.5 Container This mode is used to control unloading and loading of containers moved by such machinery units as waste-management trucks, dump trucks, etc., as well as for more precise control of the opening of the hatch cover. After installing the sensor, you should set 0. During this procedure the machinery unit must be placed on an even area with the working arm(s) folded.
This mode is designed for use on excavators and for monitoring bucket’s (excavator arm’s) operating time. (Fig.11) 0 is set via the mobile application after installing the DU-BLE on the excavator. The excavator should be placed on an even surface with the arm folded.
Page 16
These settings help to separate the operating and idle time of the machinery unit, preventing the sensor from sending false status. Parameters can be selected in the appropriate ranges (Fig. 12, Example of operating in “Bucket” mode The first measurement marked by the blue line.

Example 5.6.1 Configuring the sensor on the monitoring platform DU BLE on Wialon configuration is shown in this manual https://docs.google.com/document/d/13xV8zCP8JVlJ-dzKR4HQJ8sr28X-L5w_0APE2Nq293E/edi t?usp=sharing 5.7 Plow mode The mode is intended for installation on plow-type units, for example, snow plows machines used for clearing roads, or bulldozers (Fig.
Page 18
Fig. 13 Sensor installation locations in Plow mode To configure the parameters, you need to select the “Plow” mode. Fig. 14 Zero in Plow mode should be set when plow/blade is lowered and unit is placed on even surface Next, set the following parameters (the values can be different in your case and depends on the machinery type):...
Page 19
Fig 14.1 Set required values When the mechanism moves from the stowed position to the working position, the sensor crosses the "Upper limit" and "Lower limit». The Upper limit is recommended to be set as “The angle at the stowed position - 10 °”.
Page 20
Fig. 14.1 Once the blade is lowered, the timer starts. Its duration is set in the Turn ON Delay parameter. When crossing the border "Upper limit" towards a smaller angle, the Turn ON delay timer starts. If, after the Turn ON delay timer expires, the current angle does not exceed the "Upper limit", then the event notification will be sent (the transmitted value is «1», or another value that you set).
(short-term raising and lowering of the plow/blade when moving around obstacles and making turns are thus ignored and not considered to be idling). 5.8 Angle control “Angle control” operating mode can be used, for example, to control the operation of the mechanism of a waste-management truck, dump truck and other working units of special equipment. Fig. 17 In the angle control mode, the sensor can be used not only on dump trucks, but also on various hatches and box lids that open up or down.
First of all, the sensor is mounted on the monitored object, which is in a stowed position on a flat surface. Then it is set to 0 by the button on the main screen in the Escort mobile application. Fig. 18 Zero setting is carried out in the stowed position ATTENTION! 1) The unit at this moment must be on a flat surface...
Page 24
In this mode, an event notification is generated depending on the angle value compared to the control angles’ values (Lower and Upper limits). The sensor settings have the following parameters: (Fig. 18) Fig. 18.1 When the angle increases and the upper limit is reached, a notification event is sent (the value “1”...

6 Filtration In some of the DU-BLE’s operating modes there is a setting of the “Filtration Level”. There are several types of filtering: 1) Mow; 2) Medium; 3) High; 4) Very high. It is recommended to select a low or medium level. A higher filtration level should be set only if your machinery unit experiences a high level of vibration without the actual movement of the mechanism that is monitored by the sensor..

Fig.22 5. After selecting the device, a screen with sensor’s parameters and settings will open. An introductory message may appear on the screen: "Attention. There is a password set on the sensor" or ‘The sensor is password-protected”. 6. Before starting, it is necessary to calibrate 0°. To do this, install the sensor, put the working part of the machinery unit in its stowed position (see modes description above) and press the button "Set 0".
