Advanced Operation
Supp.y Vottace DISPLAY
When you turn on the radio, the current DC supply voltage will be indicated on the display
for 2.5 seconds. After this interval, the display will resume its normal indication of the
operating frequency.
To view the supply voltage at any time during operation, use the following procedure:
@ Press and hold the [MHz] key for one second, then rotate the Main Dial knob to select
"DC IN."
(2) Press the [MHz] key momentarily to display the current DC supply voltage on the
LCD.
© Press and hold in the [MHz] key for one second to exit to normal operation.
KeyYPAD BEEPER
A key/button beeper provides useful audible feedback whenever a button is pressed. Each
key and button has a different beep pitch, and each function has a unique beep combina-
tion. The beep volume level is controlled by the radio's VOL control.
If you want to turn the beeper off (or back on again):
@ Press and hold in the [MHz] key for one second, then rotate the Main Dial knob to
select "BEEP."
@ Press the [MHz] key, then rotate the Main Dial knob to select the display to "OFF."
@® Press and hold the[ MHz] key for one second to save the new setting and exit to normal
operation.
DisPLaY BRIGHTNESS
The FT-1500M display illumination has been specially engineered to provide high visibil-
ity with minimal disruption of your "night vision" while you are driving.
The brightness of the display is manually adjustable, using the following procedure:
@ Press and hold in the [MHz] key for one second, then rotate the Main Dial knob to
select "DIMR."
@) Press the [MHz] key, then rotate the Main Dial knob. You will observe the brightness
of the display changing. Ten levels if "dimming" are available, as well as "OFF" (no
illumination).
@) Press and hold in the [MHz] key for one second to save the new setting and exit to
normal operation.
