SHOOTING
GENERAL
PROCEDURE
The usual procedure of localizing trouble within
one of the circuits, then determining the component at
fault, is recommended in servicing this Generator. Fre-
quently, visual inspection alone will serve to locate
trouble. А Glide Slope receiver may be used to detect
the existence of rf output and modulation
if meter
circuits are not functioning.
The following chart is offered as a troubleshooting
guide, and while not all-inclusive, suggests a testing
sequence that should prove helpful. In the chart, test-
ing is grouped under logical circuit headings. It should
be borne in mind, however, that it is not always pos-
sible to treat each circuit group independently and that
in some cases there is interdependence between circuit
groups for proper overall functioning.

PROBABLE
CAUSE
OF MALFUNCTIONING
V12 ог V13 (546-As)
Malfunctioning may be caused by
either excessive drain, improper гер-
ulaton, ог both. Improper regulation
only at low line input voltage is
usually due to a weak 6AS7G
(V14).
Improper or no regulation at all line
inputs is probably due to a weak or
burned out GAUG
(V15).
If voltage 10% or more high—
Burned out tube or tubes in RF unit
(V3, 4, 5, 6,9 or 10). If below
6.7V, RT2 at end of useful life.
Badly deformed filament of RT2 also
indcates approach of end of useful life.
If adjustment range abnormal, КТІ
