1 GENERAL INFORMATION

Smena-Symbol is modern 35mm camera purposed for wide variety of photo amateurs.

It has coated lens, optical viewfinder, central shutter with wide range of speed, weather/distance scale,

flash lamp synchronizer.

Distinctive feature of the Smena-Symbol camera is use of symbolic system to set exposure and distance.

The camera can work at temperature range from –15 to +45°C, and shouldn't be exposed to direct sun

radiation or atmospheric precipitations.

Please read this manual carefully before using the camera.

Page 5 6 OPERATION Set the shutter speed and aperture value. It can be done either by weather symbols or by shutter speed and aperture scales. To set the shutter speed and aperture value using weather symbols, it is necessary to set the film speed first on the scale on the front parts of the lens, turning the ring with indexes till align with corresponding film speed.
Page 6 To get the camera ready for the next picture, pull the lever till stop – this will cock the shutter and advance the film by one frame. The camera allows using of a flash lamp (Picture 13). To synchronize moment of the flash with moment of the fully opened shutter, there is built in synchronizer.
