BASIC TECHNIQUES

Polish should be applied to the floor either prior to
using the machine or during use, depending on the
directions supplied with the polish.

Lever
Raise the tilt control lever to disengage the control
handle lock. Lower the control handle to suit, then
simply release the lever to lock in position.
To switch the machine ON, depress the lock off
button with your thumb and squeeze in the
ON/OFF lever. If the vacuum doesn't start, make sure its
switch is set to ON.
Now, gently guide the machine as slowly as possible
working over the entire floor.
Hold the machine stationary over areas where extra
polishing is required, and avoid walking on any
polished surface.
You may have to adjust the angle of the control
handle to suit localised conditions as the work
proceeds.
Regularly check the condition of the abrasive pad,
pads supplied by HSS are reversible so replace as necessary.
The unit is fitted with a trip switch, which stops the
polisher if the unit is overloaded. If the switch trips,
switch off the unit and disconnect it from the power
supply.
The switch is located to the rear of the brush motor
housing, reset the switch by pressing it in until it clicks.
Once reset, plug the unit into the power supply,
switch the supply ON and continue with the work.
If the unit trips repetitively, contact your local HSS Hire
Shop for advice.

EQUIPMENT CARE

Never push the equipment beyond its design limits.
If it will not do what you want with reasonable ease and
speed, assume you have the wrong tool for the job.
Contact your local HSS Hire Shop for advice.
Keep the equipment clean - you will find this less of a
chore if you clean it regularly, rather than wait until the
end of the hire period.
Check the debris bag at regular intervals and replace
as necessary, following the instructions in 'GETTING
STARTED'. Remember, it is your responsibility to
dispose of any debris in a responsible manner.
When not in use, store the equipment somewhere
clean, dry and safe from thieves.
Switch OFF and unplug the machine. Reset the
control handle to upright, then remove the pad.
Remove the vacuum debris bag and replace the
cover. Give the machine a thorough clean and
