SUBJECTS NOT SUITABLE FOR THE AUTOFOCUS
MECHANISM
Autofocus may not work well in the following instances and manual focus is recom¬
mended for best results.
Subject with very glossy or shiny surfaces
(e.g.the exterior of a car)
1
Scenes which cause a strong contrast be¬
tween the right and left halves of the screen.
Subjects with little or no reflection (e.g.
black clothes, black hair, water surface)
Be sure not to cover autofocus window with your
hand, fingers, etc. during recording.
Do not use focusing ring during autofocus.
Aim camera so that subject is centred in viewfinder.
Notes
•The autofocus mechanism focuses subjects located
up to 9m away. |f subject is located further, focus is
locked at infinity. When shooting bright subjects
outdoors during the daytime, the lens aperture is
small so that accurate focus is maintained easily. If it
is cloudy or if you are shooting dark subjects (night
scenes, etc.), use manual focusing.
