Rudder Angle Indicator System 1 Description 3-face Indicator Flush mount indicator Wall mount indicator A rudder angle indicator system consists of 3 different areas: Measurement of the rudder angle (Fig. 2 / 1) A feedback unit / rudder angle transmitter is used to measure the rudder angle. It is also possible that the steering gear itself provides the rudder angle (as voltage or current signal) to the rudder angle indicator system.
The angle indicator is intended for flush mounting. After being installed, • the KLPQ-96 and KLPQ-144 devices correspond to the type of enclosure IP 23 • the KLPQ-96wp and KLPQ-144wp devices correspond to the type of enclosure IP 66 The illumination can be adjusted by means of an additional dimmer only, see chapter 1.3.6.
Rudder Angle Indicator System 1 Description KLPQ-96 / KLPQ-96wp The rudder angle indicator consists of a moving-coil measuring instrument with the measuring input of ± 10 V DC with full-scale deflection and a scale of 96 mm x 96 mm. Scale illumination is ensured by LEDs and is supplied with 24 V DC / 85 mA.
Rudder Angle Indicator System 1 Description The dimmer is used to adjust scale illumination of the rudder angle indicators, type KLPQ- xxx. 1.3.7 Rudder Angle Indicators, Type BCI 240-96 / BCI 240-144 (± 45° or ± 75°) For installation, see dimensional drawing BCI 240-96, BCI 240-144 in the annex, chapter For connections and installation of an external dimmer, see connection diagram dp-1-k in the annex,...
Rudder Angle Indicator System 1 Description Fig. 8: Rudder Angle Indicator, Type NOA 170 The rudder angle indicator consists of a moving-coil measuring instrument with the measuring input of ± 10 V DC with full-scale deflection and a scale of 192 mm x 192 mm. The angle indicator is intended for bulkhead mounting.
Rudder Angle Indicator System 1 Description 1.3.9 Signal Calibration Box, Type SCB-RAI 10 E01 Fig. 9: Signal Calibration Box, Type SCB-RAI 10 E01 is designed to convert signals from a sensor and display Signal Calibration Box (SCB) these corrected signals on 1 or more indicators. The reason for the conversion is that the sensor and the indicators may have a certain deviation.
Rudder Angle Indicator System 1 Description Fig. 10: Signal Calibration Box, Principle Diagram Input has 1 adjustable rudder angle input from the feedback unit. The input type of the rudder angle is selected by software: 3 wire potentiometers (1 kΩ - 10 kΩ) supplied with 5 V DC from the signal converter box. Current signal 4 / 12 / 20 mA RI(max) 150 Ω...
