    Safety Notes Please note the included General Safety Notes and the following safety notes to avoid malfunctions, damage or physical injury: § Only use this multi-function grinder/sharpener for domestic purposes. The machine is not designed for continuous, professional use. § Only use this machine according to this instruction manual and for the intended use.
  • Page 5 Safety Notes § Only use the included attachments with this multi-function grinder/sharpener. § The attachment must not be removed or fitted when the grinding stone/disc is turning. § Wear suitable clothing when using the multi-function grinder/sharpener. Synthetic materials may be damaged by flying sparks. Tight clothing cannot get caught in moving parts easily.

    Operation Intended Use § The multi-function grinder and sharpener is designed for dry grinding only. The grinder/sharpener is designed for sharpening of HSS drill bits, knives and scissors with straight blades, plane blades and chisels. § This machine is a grinder/sharpener and it is not designed for work that would normally be done with a bench grinder.

    Operation Hints: Before removing the used attachment from the motor unit make sure the grinding stone and the motor unit have come to a complete standstill. The grinder/sharpener can only be operated if the attachment is inserted and locked properly into the motor unit. Using as Drill Bit Sharpener The multi-function grinder and sharpener is intended to sharpen steel drill bits.

    Operation Tip Angle 118 – 135° Angle 59° from each side 118°) resp. 67.5° (= 135°) Cutting Angle 12 – 15° Badly damaged twist drills should first be coarsely sharpened on a sharpening block. Both cutting edges (b) must have the same angle to the drill axis (a) and have the same length so that the drill runs concentrically.

    Operation 2. Take out the grinding stone together with the holder. Loosen 3. Loosen the grinding stone holder with a 22 mm spanner. Note LEFT-HAND THREAD ! Turn clock- wise for loosening! 4. Mount the new grinding stone with the flattened edge facing downwards on the holder and re-insert the metal washer.

    Operation 4. Put the knife into the second knife notch. As soon as the cutting edge touches the grinding stone, start pulling the knife towards you until it is fully pulled out of the knife notch. 5. Check whether the knife is sharpened sufficiently and repeat the sharpening process if necessary.

    Operation 7. Check if the cutting edge angle is correct and the cutting edge is sharpened properly. Repeat the sharpening process if necessary. Afterwards switch off the motor unit with the ON/OFF switch in direction O. Hints § The tool may become very hot during sharpening/grinding. This may lead to a change in the material properties.
